Midwich is the worst map
Period. 50/50 killer/survivor, 3k hours.
Midwich is literally the worst map in the game, for killers and survivors. I highly doubt you can convince me otherwise.
There's too many pallets for survivors to use, even if they're unsafe. Stuns still gain distance.
It's almost impossible to find a safe way to get from the first level to the second level as survivor.
90% of the map is a straight hallway with no room for counterplay. Due to the fact that there's ONE safe pallet on the whole map, it's a crapshoot for who wins.
Whoever designed this map did a horrible job. I would play the most killer sided map as survivor or the most survivor sided map as killer 100 time before I would play this monstrosity of a map ONCE as either role.

Uhhmm.... Most pallets are safe pallets on Midwich. Are you referring to the god pallet downstairs next to the broken wall?

No, Haddonfield is the worst map, followed by certain iterations of the corn maps. Midwich, at least, looks fantastic.

There are a very large amount of safe pallets on Midwich, as long as you're actually playing the pallet instead of either just running or repeatedly vaulting (because that never goes well)

Haddnonfield and Game are the worse ones to me. If I get Haddnonfield as Twins... I may as well surrender if they realize 2nd story windows just end Victor's pursuits. Though that one capital I shaped Autohaven map is pretty awful to... it's always a 3 gen guard since the Killer can't afford traveling between the the two ends.

I'd say the main issue with midwich are that it heavily favours killers with high mobility (which are also already S/A-tier) while killers with base movement speed have to walk to the ######### stairs that are always in the corners.
Additionally the map is extremely boring in design, being a square in a square on top of a square

The Pallets on Midwich are not safe. A safe Pallet is a Pallet which needs to be broken, this does not apply to Midwich-Pallets (except for the two God Pallets in the Corners). Once thrown, most of the Pallets in Midwich are playable, if the Survivor does not get a Stun.
@Topic:
Yeah, I agree, bad for both sides. Too many unsafe Pallets, two God Pallets. There should be less Pallets, but they should be a little bit more safe. Also, there should be signs for Generators, they added those to Lerys with the Rework, no idea why Midwich does not have any signs.
Also, there should be a permanent 4th connection between the two Floors, currently there are only 3 permanent connections, the 4th can be opened by the Killer. There should be 4 permanent connections and the 5th should be optionable via Breakable Walls.
Also, the Center should have more access, from 4 sides instead of only 2 sides. While this would not really go with the original design, it is achieveable by Holes in the Walls. Last but not least, more Drops down would be great.

Actually it's kind of growing on me since I started running Open Handed, Bond and Kindred. You just see what's happening all the time

That's also a curse. Watching Nea crouch walk in the far corner like the Killer is at her, watching the Doctor pretend to leave the hook but return every couple seconds, and the Nancy... where is the Nancy?!? Oh she's in a locker. She got out... went to a gen... blew a skill check. Welp, I'm going to piggy back on Dwight's sacrifice and leave the match with him.

in terms of balance It is a survivor sided map however it is not the worst.
The biggest thing that makes survivor sided maps survivor sided is the size and since midwich can have multiple 3 gen layouts it isn't the worst. It is still pretty bad tho because of the really good pallets, vaults, and braindead strat of just running down the halls until the killer gets close.

there are actually 4-5 god pallets, you forgot the 2 that spawn in the center of the map behind the clock tower and the one that spawns near the breakable wall stairway.

I can think of a handful of really safe pallets - the one right at the top of the basement stairs next to the lockers, the one in the opposite corner of the map at the choke point next to the stairs, the one in the first-floor bathroom that you can drop into from the floor above, and the two behind the "satanic chest carrier thing" in the corner of the main courtyard. I'm pretty sure those are the only ones the killer can't at least Bloodlust around.

Preaching to the choir my friend.
As survivor gens might aswell not exist.
As killer if you can't counter holding M1 you're screwed.

I'm not fond of Midwich either, since it's just hold w simulator for most chases. However, unsafe as they may be, the pallets usually have some other factor going for them. They either lack visibility for the killer, or are unexpectedly wide.
I think that Haddonfield is the worst map. Sure, it's good for survivors, but those atrocious quadruple windows in the main building is enough to drag an otherwise good map to hell. In fact, you can just slow vault those double windows infinitely and they can never get you.

I love Haddonfield too, but it needs a power cleaning and main building bleaching to cleanse that unholy gateway to hell that is quadruple windows.

Yes, it's a terrible map. It's just a long, circular hallway that makes it impossible to cut a survivor off and forces you to hold W for 15 seconds before even getting into a chase. Once you've even caught up, there is a safe pallet in every room (and some god pallets with the breakable walls up). It is both boring to play and incredibly survivor-sided for m1 killers.
Good luck getting them to change it within the next two years now. BHVR devs move slower than the speed of government - they rework like, three maps every couple months.

Run Open Handed, Bond and Kindred. I run DS for the 4th but use whatever
You will love indoor maps

outdated but its my favorite map on both sides

It's not necessarily killer-sided, it's just friendly to a lot of killers.
The thing about Midwich is that it's very easy to run straight, and turn into a room to find a loop. Killers like Blight, who can close distances well, and looping killers like Clown, excel on Midwich. Otherwise, it's straightforward and tedious.
Meanwhile, I play Pig without shame. And my therapist says that it's not healthy for me to keep talking about Midwich.

Its pretty good for nurse. But Haddonfield and the new father's chapel is much worse
