New Animations - Constructive Criticism

The newer, smoother animations are gorgeous -- the new picking-yourself-up, the new falling animation -- the transitions feel cleaner and much less jarring. Props to the animators for putting together pretty animations that flow and add a touch of realism! I can't imagine that it's easy to smooth out the actions of player-controlled models that are constantly jerking around.

However, the injured running animation doesn't reflect on what a survivor should be feeling post-bludgeoning/stabbing/maiming/facecamping/etc. They're hunched over, putting a hand to their stomach, but not limping, not displaying any of the apparent pain they should be in. At worst, they look like they're suffering from a stomach ache.

Nor do the default standing animations contribute well to the game's tone; survivors stand upright, showing none of the fear that the older posture conveyed. More accurately, the tone it conveys is now nonchalant. I feel that what made the old default standing animation feel "scared" was that the survivors looked as though they were trying to make themselves smaller and closer to the ground, cowering away from the monsters chasing them.

Since the older injured and standing animations were able to convey so much emotion, I'd like to suggest re-implementing them, albeit tweaking them to bring them up to date. I can't pinpoint exactly what these updates could be, but if any of the developers do happen to take a peek at this, I hope that it's a little more helpful than the usual criticism they get constantly.

Actually I like the new animations because they reflect that the survivors have been in the trials for so many times that they've gotten used to it which perfectly reflects people who have been playing this game for long. Being injured isn't that scary anymore and nothing can scare them except the occasional stealth killers. Personally I think the only time old animations should come back is when facing stealth killers (Wraith, GF, Pig, and Myers) and the old injured animation should only happen when you're mangled or broken

Well, their memories are wiped once they get back to the campfire, so ehhhhhhh. But yeah I like that concept!!!
