Imagine if killers had a perk as powerful as Dead Hard where u could press a button to add distance
Oh wait they do, it's called Coup de Grâce and it only activates once per gen.
How about you give DH the same balance and give survivors a token once per gen?

I mean... basic lunging as well? Plus some killers have super lunges as part of their power or a side effect of a speed boost in their power. Wraith, Spirit, T3 Myers, Pig, and debatably Demogorgon all fit into one of those categories.
Edit: Also one could argue that Nurse has the most super lunge in the game. 300% movespeed for a maximum of 20 meters that does not care if there are walls and other obstacles in the way.

^^^This. Spirit Add-Ons when she comes out of her phase into a lunge can be insane.
To add to that, I've seen many killers that will run exhaustion add-ons, completely negating any exhaustion perk (Looking at you Huntress and Clown- sorry I like to used Balanced Landing in 2021.) There's also the fact that DH isn't infinite- once per chase, easy to screw up as a Survivor, will leave you exhausted on the ground more time then not, easy to bait out...
And, there's also tons of insta-down killers and perks that completely negate the ability to use DH, since you have to be injured to activate it. (Billy Saw, Bubba Saw, Oni Insta-down, T3 Myers, Marked Ghostface, Iri Head Huntress, Haunted Grounds, Make Your Choice...)
DH is a pretty balanced perk. The only thing that should be changed on it is the lag, since it doesn't really feel smooth to use compared to other exhaustion perks.

Isn’t Coup De Grace basically a super lunge?

Killers can lunge though.

Oh no the killer Dead Harded my Dead Hard.

... seriously.... we're complaining about Dead Hard now.
WTF...
I'm a killer main and even I find this confusing. I always knew that this game's playerbase was pathetic, but this really takes the cake. You can bait it out, you can give yourself a better lunge, you can GET GUD.
FFS...

Clowns exhaustion addon is completely gone when the next update hits which sucks, because that was a really good addon on him, and it helped immensely. Sadly huntress is going to be the next one to go, and that will be it for the exhaustion addons.

Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical game.
Survivors' gameplay and requirements are different from killers' gameplay and requirements. Giving a survivor an iridescent head flashlight will literally kill the killers' will to live. Giving killers an equivalent kindred would make the survivor count drop to a meghead's brain cell count. Imagine if survivors had anti-PGTW; rescue a survivor and immediately add 25% to a generator. I wouldn't touch the controller with a twelve foot pole if that was implemented.
In the case of dead hard, killers have basic lunges. There is no exhaustion and we can lunge as much as we want. Survivors get once chance to escape a single chase chain, if they can time it right. It is completely irrational, and frankly imperious, to demand that killers be given the same exact concepts in perks as survivors. Believe me; I would absolutely love a perk that lets me cover ground immediately to cut short chases (coughs in nurse), but that would be absolutely ridiculous, since we already have the upper ground in chases.

Yes, you can bait out DH For Distance. That is totally a thing that is possible.

Get off your high horse. It's widely acknowledged across good players that Dead Hard is one of the most powerful survivor perks. Kind of location dependent but when used for distance it can enable survivors to reach pallets and windows they otherwise wouldn't have made. In a good area used by a good survivor this can potentially add minutes onto a chase if the killer keeps chasing, or cause the killer to break chase going away with no hook. All that on one button press with no counterplay.
I'm assuming you play at green ranks where David's still dead hard face first into a wall

Imagine if they gave something like that to demogorgon, he would be the most busted killer in the entire game.
1 -
You cain nail them with a 2 min exhaustion hatchet
0 -
Give it a 3 second window where you can't vault windows, pull down pallets or vault pallets and it'll be fine.
0 -
Or you could just learn Clown. He can close the gap on survivors whenever he wants to.

also her actual weapon range is increased compared to other killers

I do agree that dead hard for distance is kind of stupid. I woudl rather see a rework which gives it more dodging lunges capabilities without being exhausted on the ground but also reduce the whole distance gained thing.

They were arguably some of the most over powered add ons in the game. The ability to negate a survivors perk that easily shouldn't be possible.
Additionally I found Clown more then fine without them, and Clowns my main killer.

The simplest change would be to put it on a token system. 3 tokens and thats it.
A system like this rewards true skill as it has the survivors thinking should I waste this or save it for another time.

That would probably be more than it is used now.
You really can use it once per chase. Which is like 3 times a game. And if the same survivor is getting off 3 DHs against you.
Well, you really need to learn how to bait it out and end chases.

Well ? Did you see DH on the PTB ?

Press a button to add distance:
Hillbilly press m2 for 2 seconds to move at 230% ms indefinitely
Nurse: press 2 times m2 to blink for 20 and 12 m at 333% ms
Spirit: hold m2 to move for 5 seconds at 176% ms
And i stop here because people should know already

Killers can move double the speed of survivors almost every time they desire but god forbid survivors moving moving at 150% speed for 1 second once every 40 secs

If we are doing a direct comparison why not add a survivor perk that slowly does each undone generator in the background until the killer finds a small object in the entire map? Or a perk that instantly adds 25% progress to a gen every time you get unhooked? Learn to deal with survivor perks like how survivors deal with killer perks, DH is strong but there are many other strong perks on either side.

Honestly I think this is the best news I've heard about the new patch yet besides how the maps look. I can't tell you how much I loathe exhaustion add-ons since it can take away from some of the really fun survivor exhaustion plays. (Like Head-On locker plays, or a good Houdini Lithe play.)
Still though, the rest of my post still stands. There's a ton of things that make Dead Hard useless, from certain Killer abilities to the exposed effect to how hard it is to actually pull off correctly.
