Key Suggestion

Hello friends,

I am sure this topic has been discussed endlessly, and perhaps my idea has already been suggested, but I will forge ahead nonetheless and present my potential “fix” for keys

In my short experience with this game, I found that the biggest issue with keys is the noninteractability. If the condition are right, keys mean that the survivor escapes. The only counterplays to keys are either the killer tunnels, which can both lose the killer the game and ruin the experience of the key holder, or for the killer to play so well that the key never comes into play. When one of the counterplays is to play killer flawlessly, that’s not really a counterplay.

My suggestion aims to keep keys as a viable escape method while increasing the interactivity and overall fun of keys:

-Create a new category of key that is the only key that can open hatch and can only be found in a chest. Perhaps make it so there is a guaranteed extra chest that has a hatch key.

-Current pink and purple keys will have their hatch opening abilities removed in exchange for greater aura reading.

-Opening a hatch is not instantaneous unless the killer has already closed hatch. Instead, it takes 30 seconds to open hatch.

-The killer gets a loud noise notification at the hatch dependent on how many survivors are still in the match. If there are 4 survivors, the killer gets a loud noise notification when the hatch has twenty seconds left to open, 15 seconds when there are three survivors, 10 when there are two, and five seconds when there is one.

-There should be perks that are built around keys as an alternate escape route. Ideas include lowering the opening time to twenty seconds, creating false loud noise notifications, and aura readings for the chest with the hatch key.

Obviously, the numbers would need to be massaged depending on how they play out in practice. But, the basic idea makes it so now hatch escapes are interactive and a possible side objective. It would allow for perks and addons to be created to address hatch play.

Any criticisms, additional ideas, or hugs are welcomed.
