Decisive Strike FIX

Using whatever is at hand, you stab your aggressor in an attempt to escape.

After being unhooked Decisive strike will be usable for 40/50/60 seconds.

While Decisive Strike is active, when grabbed by the killer while in the dying state, succeed a Skill check to automatically escape the killer's grasp and stun them for 5 seconds.

Disables if another survivor is hooked while you are not hooked or in the dying state until you are next hooked.

Successfully stunning the killer will result in you becoming the obsession.

Increases the odds of you being the obsession.

There, works off both hooks, still functions as an anti-tunnel tool, erases almost all of the abuse cases in one fell swoop. Even does the "anti-tunnel" job better than it does now.

Lol. So imagine you get farmed in the basement, and first you get downed, then your savior. After killer hooks that second person you lose DS immediately to get hooked again. No thank you, because these situations are exactly when DS is needed to be active.

You misread it. I get hooked. I get unhooked. Killer slugs me. Killer downs the person who unhooked me. Killer hooks them. I'm in the dying state (slugged or hooked), I keep my DS.

I can't remember if it was on a BHVr stream or a personal stream but I remember Mcclean saying they'd never go with the "other player hooked" thing as it would potentially decide your ability to use your perk based on getting hooked AND another players actions.

nah a good fix would be you lose protection if you heal or repair gen. At that point i would be fine if DS would be longer.

That's fair. I can see them not wanting you to feel like you've lost player agency over your own perk. That's a good example of "am I missing something?" because purely from a balance stand point my idea works (at least so far as I can tell). But it wouldn't feel good to lose your perk because of someone else's actions.

That being said, being DS'd because you didn't tunnel also feels pretty ######### so they still need to find a solution there.

I think the healthiest change that could be made if upon touching a generator or healing to full health DS deactivates. I don't know whats stopping them from testing that on a PTB. Unless they fear outcry from the people who use it to troll.

I agree with you on that, my personal rule as killer is no double hooks/two hooks in a row. Its a rule I had since before this incarnation of DS even existed, and I still sometimes get hit by a full health survivor I've down running to the hook to try and BT save before I can even leave it. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth and feels like the devs are telling me to stop playing so well, by rewarding survivors with more pressure.

The only exception to this rule is if you absolutely go out of your way to DS me. Than I make sure you die on second hook.

So what happens when you get unhooked while the killer is about to hook another survivor, they get hooked, you lose your DS, and the killer goes straight back for you? Doesn't seem like a good idea IMO.

All it needs is disabling when the survivor works on a gen or cleanses a totem, because you're not being tunnelled if you're able to do either of those things.

Also, @KaldakaGreyTwitch - we've got to stop running into each other like this ;)

The only problem that ever existed with Decisive Strike was killer players who were so terrified of it they did the "dribbling" to the hook.

I think the only change that's need to happen is DS is active once you are off hook. After if you touch a gen, or totem, or heal another survivor it deactivates. I think it should stay active longer if you are slugged though.

    This should be in DS.

I've just been in a match.

Hooked a survivor. went across map chasing someone else for about 30 seconds and downed hem, the first survivor got unhooked so I hooked the 2nd survivor I just downed.

Just because the first survivor has ds, they run up, tried to take the 2nd survivor off the hook, and I grabbed them up wit animation, there ds activates. I get stunned and the survivor pulls them off the hook.

Why should killers be punished because the survivor went for the unhook when I was stood there.

The perk needs to deactivate DS once you hook a different survivor.
