Tome: Buried underground not counting hooked survivors

Description: I have this tome active for Time I - Awakening, page 3 Buried underground. I just finished a game and killed 3 survivors in the basement hooks, ended up hooking them all multiple times in the basement hooks and didn't complete, or even get any progress towards this tome.
Steps: I was playing as the huntress in Coldwind Farms Rotten Fields variation with tome above active. Kept hooking surivors in the basement. Two of them ended up using decisive strike on me, in addition one of them that used DS, unhooked themselves.
