Survivors only want weak killers in the game
I play wraith and chase at jungle gyms and unmindgameable pallets, I get tbagged and called a trash killer. I play pyramid and never get tbagged but called boring for playing a strong killer. Survivors only want to play follow the leader, anything other then that needs a nerf and counterplay (even though there's plenty).

Wow dude! You categorized every survivor into one group! Not every survivor wants only weak killers in the game, those are just a vocal minority just like killers who want survivors to run in a straight line and not do generators.
Most survivors I've seen (me included) just want fair, fun, and balanced killers, like Blight, Hillbilly, and Oni.

I'm ready for something new and cool, an interesting power. I don't care if it's a little OP at this point, the Twins and Blight can be summed up in a sentence each and I'm bored
You just ran into some toxicity
2 -
LOL
Blight: busted FoV
Billy: trash since the nerf
Oni: Billy with extra steps.

Nope, there's a difference between good killers and boring killers. For example I LOVE playing against a nurse because it feels so good when you juke a good one, or bully a bad one. BUT I despise going against freddy, not because he's broken but because he's one of the most boring killers to go against, especially forever Freddy.
Twins are also a great example, they're not even close to op, but they're so boring to go against, since 90% just camp the hook and get rewarded for it.
Do people hate spirit? Yes, because stridor spirit is literally uncounterable. Do people hate pyramid head? Yes, because it feels that you can't do anything sometimes. Do people hate deathslinger? Yes, because a good deathslinger is ######### annoying to go against. But:
People don't hate the nurse, arguably the strongest killer in the game.
Neither hag (well most of them, I've been trashtalked for playing hag). She's strong as hell in the right hands.

So far all the survivors i´ve seen want a gen repair simulator. They ignore totems, even when not pressured and only focus gens.

Not every survivor is like that. I think that survivor is the more whiney side in general but most of the complaints about boring killers are pretty valid.
Killers like Spirit, Deathslinger, and Pyramid Head completely negate the skill of the survivor, which is honestly not fair. I’m not saying these killers have no counterplay but the counterplay they do have is very stale and boring because it has nothing to do with the survivor’s input. Now, all these killers do require the player playing them to be good but relying on just the killer player to be bad isn’t good design. I even main Spirit and I know this is true.
Billy, Blight, and Huntress (assuming she doesn’t have Iri Head) are all strong killers but aren’t oppressive because there are ways to play around their power as long as you have the skill and you are aware what counters they have. Because of that, these killers are great examples of killers that are still strong but still offer fun gameplay from both sides.

Nah, sounds like you just got unlucky with your survivors. Can happen to anyone. PH is a generally fun killer to verse, at least for me, since I like baiting out his range attack.
Wraith does need some help though- poor boi is struggling.
4 -
Well I had a survivor off herself on hook yesterday when I was playing wraith with the addon that gives him a terror radius while cloaked...
So I think some players just wouldn't be satisfied with anything

https://youtu.be/EENUITqPlnk Billy is trash amiright

Whats the counterplay to safe pallets? Survivors are literally untouchable here no matter how good you are at killer. What about killer shack? Its completely survivor sided as if they make no mistake it's impossible to down them because they have a god pallet.
3 -
There’s the whataboutism. I am aware that there are a lot of busted things survivors can use. Did I ever say there wasn’t? You need to learn to have empathy towards the other side and to understand that survivors have to go through BS and killers have to go through BS.
5 -
I would say the majority of survivors don't like a challenge. Why do you think most people play survivor? The game is only difficult vs like 4 killers if you are a competent survivor, and the player playing the killer has to be decent as well. I have had people cuss me out for using Doc on Fractured Cowshed. Imagine getting mad at a Doc on that map. Also, I said the majority, not all. So if you fall into that small minority that likes a challenge as survivor, don't get offended.
3 -
I hope people don't live their lives the way they make threads.
This, let's lump everyone into one stereotype is , frankly, bullshit. There are a myriad of different personalities that play this game. All of us with different perspectives and opinions.

I like a challenge so I don't want to go against easy killers and have a quick match and hardly get to do anything, but I also don't want to get steam rolled by an overpowered killer and have the same issue. I honestly would just like to go into every match and regardless of which killer/map etc be able to feel like there is a 50/50 chance whether I win or lose. If the killer is a really good player and wins great, if the survivors play really well and win that's great to, as long as neither side feels like there gunna win or lose before the match has even started

Blights FoV is messed up but it doesn't mean he's weak, in the right hands he's literally competitively viable and thats saying ALOT, plus I've mained him since release and other than sliding on random stuff and the bad FoV he's really amazing.
Billy isn't trash since his nerf, what are you talking about? I can still curve with him and as long as I have one overheat addon I can do really well with him, sounds like a you problem if you think Billy's bad.
Oni isn't just Billy with extra steps, their powers work very differently and are used in different ways. If you put infectious on oni you can easily get 2 or 3 downs in a very short amount of time.
4 -
Other than the usual noobs I didn't see anyone request for a direct nerf to hillbilly, only his addons since some combinations like Instasaw was super unfair.
4 -
Cool, rank 20 gameplay.
So inspiring!
5 -
That wasn’t rank 20 you want more proof I can do this all day
1 -
Never said that Blight is weak. I just said, that his FoV is busted.
Billy is just a shadow of his former self. I haven´t seen a SINGLE good Billy since his nerf. Not one.
If you put Infectious on Billy, it works just the same.
1 -
And your point is that Billy needs a nerf?
2 -
You say that Billy is trash but he’s not I’m not a survivor main my point is Billy is not trash you want trash play Wraith trapper and Twins on Haddonfield then will talk

I succumb myself to the miserable role of survivor because there is no challenge whatsoever on the killer side. Perhaps I'm in a minority.

Billy is a shadow of his former self. Most good Billy players either switched to survivor or completely left. Or whats the reason, why we see so many decent Billys?
Post edited by Rizzo on2 -
This was purely the fault of the survivors. You would have gotten the exact same result with any other instadown killer.
Doesn´t mean that Billy is strong.
Post edited by Rizzo on1 -
Even though Billy got nerfed he's still really strong in the right hands and can beat good survivors, just because you haven't run into any good Billy's doesnt mean none exist.
2 -
Even though most players didn't want Billy to be nerfed im guessing the devs still went through with it because his kill rate was really high (~75%)
3 -
Wanting to verse a killer with consistent counterplay that involves skill and not guessing does not mean a weak killer. Nurse is always fun because you can counter her and try different minigames because most people arent that good with her. Hill Billy is fun and fair to go against even tho at really high play he can shut down just about any loop. If spirit had a phase indicator I'd probably enjoy going against her. So I mean take it how you will but when people talk crap about killers and you defend it remember this thread
1 -
Everybody knows he isn't trash. He still strong as he was. Just without broken add ons.
1 -
I gotta agree the clip doesn't prove anything as the survivors really did play like legit rank 20s.
That's kinda like my Bubba clip from 2019:
Yes, I 4k'd in 39 seconds measured from the start of the match but does that mean PreRework-Bubba was top tier ? Hell no. It proved nothing.
The first 2 survivors were obviously meme-ing around by pointing at me, the 3rd survivor probably got stuck whilst looping allowing me to catch her instantly and the last survivor refused to run away and hide outside my terror radius during all of this to end then and there.
Decent survivors were able to 1v1 old Bubba pretty much while sleeping.
7 -
Billy is still good just can't spam the saw. Still a dumb nerf. I main Billy.
4 -
I really want to see the new kill rates. After his nerf and after moris were turned into something recreational.
I suspect that they are considerably lower than before.
2 -
Okay sounds about right. But I've seen a few nerf Doctor and Bubba from questionable people.
1 -
Exactly! Gameplay of survivors that let themselves get downed out in the open or while healing isn't representative. Because good survivors don't get downed like this.
They are more likely to get downed when Billy or Oni come rushing in out of nowhere.
1 -
His nerf wasn't necessary. He was the to go standard on how other killers should be balanced.
He was perfectly fine.
5 -
It's a kind of hard to have sympathy to the other side when the game is a 4v1 and the 4 are complaining there are killers that they can't beat in the 1v1.
Even more so when the devs cater to the survivor side a lot more that the killer side
9 -
That’s because you’re not looking at it from the survivors perspective only yours. I’m pretty sure if you were playing survivor you would not want to go against Forever Freddy, Stridor Spirit, or Pyramid Head who by the way is still stupidly broken to play. It may be that you also care for the 4K way too much. I stopped caring about the 4K way to much and play to enjoy myself even if I am getting stomped. But you know, not everyone’s like that.
1 -
I can agree on that. But he's still god hut it's sad he went from A tier to B tier
1 -
It isn't whataboutism when the OP is just restating their points. Can we stop using this word please.
0 -
Oh I agree with that. The killer should be the power role and they should have control of the chase. Spirit is my main, I love her to death and I love that she ignores loops and can actually manage games consistently. The problem is that the counters she has is just blindly guessing which negates the survivors’ skill. Spirit needs to have the ability to end chases quickly, but survivors also need to feel that they aren’t completely helpless.
1 -
Pyramid Head isn't OP. He's still just a M1 killer.
3 -
The thing is that i used to be a survivor main and I still play survivor. I have played against forever freddy stridor spirit and pyramid and the only thing I have a problem with is spirit with her broken addons.so what if freddy teleports to your gen, your teammates should be on gens when not in chase.
5 -
That's what a survivor told me and no he isn't just a m1 killer lol least not my pyramid.
1 -
I guess i see it through a killer lense but i've never really had a problem with playing against spirit. Yeah it can suck sometimes but i see the game as a 4v1 instead of a 1v1 four times. If the killer doesn't have the upper hand in the chase what do they have. And with how bad most of the cast of killers are and how stupidly strong some tiles and maps are the killer doesn't really have the upper hand in the 1v1. If they don't have that what do they have?
2 -
Every killer in the game has an upper hand in a 1v1 setting because they can kill the survivor.
2 -
I don't think low tier killers like legion, pig and clown really have the upper hand on maps that string strong tiles into more strong tiles. Thompson house and Ormond can still string half the map into each other with loops.
0 -
A lot of survivors really are like what you've described, but like anything else, this game takes all kinds. When I play survivor, my most enjoyable games are against killers who I am evenly matched against, where I have to put in work to get away, and where I feel like it could have gone either way even when I escape. That's when DBD is at peak fun for me.
I don't look any (accidental) gift horses in the mouth when I am up against a killer who is clearly new to the game or the character they are playing, and I don't tease or bully them either. I say gg just like always, maybe make a comment like "keep at it, Nurse (or whoever) is a tough one to play well" and move on.
Unless the killer is being a wanton facecamping/super-tunneling ghoul, I don't give them a hard time. The killer is, generally speaking, part of what is making the game fun for everyone, and in that sense we're all in it together.
3 -
That’s fair. I think those ridiculous tiles that exist need to be looked at and weaker killers need to be buffed. But you do see what I mean about Spirit? I think all she needs to do is give feedback to the survivors about what she’s doing but should still be able to control the chase as long as the player playing is good. Honestly, there’s so many broken things in this game both sides have I have no idea how long it will take to balance all of it.
0 -
Right but at the end of the day they can still kill the person and the survivor can't do the same. So, killers are objectively stronger than survivors in the 1v1
2 -
At their current pace probably never.
Yeah but a survivor can run a killer for 5 gens and a killer cant do that so survivor is stronger. Like (????)
2 -
That may be true, but it really should be factored down to how long it can take for a killer to end a chase. If killers are spending up to two minutes chasing a survivor at a super busted tile, gens will be flying by. I think killers need to end chases faster while still providing a fun back and forth battle. Perfect example of a killer like that is Blight. He’s not oppressive in any way but his power can end chases fast as long as you’re good with him.
