Spirit is OP and requires 0 skill

Then you would know she doesn't move grass, corn and crows?? She makes noise when going through them, but she doesn't move the grass itself. If she did I wouldn't be complaining about Spirit all the time.
1 -
Agreed. So is the nurse. Spirit OP fo sho!
0 -
I don't know if she takes 0 skill to play... or even if she's OP in the grand scheme of things, but hoooly moly is she unfun to face.
I don't think anything else matters if a killer is horrible to face, to me that's more than enough to warrant changes. I think the lack of feedback the Spirit gives when phasing is to blame.

You need a killer that's easy to learn the vets are leaving its just as simple as that im not in anyway personally attacking you but you need new killers and killes that are fun for them otherwise no game.
BTW I'm no way attacking you that ain't my style I just don't understand the hate when you can learn to out play her.

that statement is about as true as saying every SWF was a sweaty tryhard squad

usually spirits tend to camp and slug 2 biggest forms of killer cheese

Technically she requires you to listen, look, and if the survivors are good, mindgame. So, actually she does require skill. KIllers that don't require skill would be someone like Freddy. She asks more from you as a player than many of the killers. Just because she's frustrating to play against or, well, quite often can do things that take no skill like simply just standing in one spot not even in her power, doesn't take away from the times she does.

Iron Will does counter Spirit. Have you seen a Spirit go against Iron Will survivors without Stridor? She gets completely destroyed because of no sounds. And because Iron Will is so popular, Spirit must assume survivors will have it and auto-include Stridor. So you're forcing her to take up a perk slot, and she's running with only 3 perks pretty much. Against survivors who don't have Iron Will, Stridor will make them super loud for some reason and confuse her. And then there's matches where there's Iron Will-less survivors AND Iron Will survivors. It makes her so stressful and confusing to play.
And I think you have that the wrong way around. Nurse is Spirit, if not killer in general, on training wheels.

Survivors dont take skill. They walk to a generator, get 360° vision, get the ability ti pick themselves up, heal themselves, blind the killer, STAB the killer, have an ability that gives 150% movespeed for a limited time, get free outs with hatch and free cheesecake every match. All survivors should be nerfed because they are mean and suck and I dont want to have to use my brain in the slightest to win.
Oh wait, i play killer over survivor so i just gotta "git gud"
6 -
If u still need an "explanation" just play the game yourself instead of looking at other salty survivors video
I dunno what u on about I always see moving grass and corn, maybe your graphic quality is lower?

Still defending spirit comments. Oh okay thats what i expected. At least some people agree with me thank you all
2 -
Survivor takes the skill level of a chess master who dabbles in astrophysics as a spare time hobby good SIR! I bid you GOOD DAY!
1 -
Spirit does have very little counter play but she takes a decent amount of skill.
3 -
Yes there is counterplay, too many survivors are entitled and think that they should escape every single trial and if they don't its not that the killer played well or the survivor didn't play well its 'oh x killer is OP and needs a nerf'. And yes it does take skill to play her, sounds like you only survivor main with a comment like that
1 -
You say that but I'm actually more lethal with clown, trapper or doctor than with spirit. If you're in my lobby and I'm playing spirit, your chances of escaping just gone up exponentially
1 -
You didn’t answer my question. Trust me I’ve fought plenty of spirits but there is nothing you can do against a competent one in a chase.
0 -
I agree it's hard to play against a really good spirit but i feel like they are rather rare (similiar to nurse to some extent)
0 -
Git gud.
1 -
Agreed they are pretty rare(though not as rare as a good nurse) but that doesn’t excuse her complete lack of counter play during chase
0 -
Obviously.
I would definetely not be against the idea of giving survivor SOME kind of information to work with against spirit.
0 -
How do you counter a spirit then? I’d honestly be interested to know other people’s counters to her
0 -
With stridor she doesn’t but normal spirit is still on the easier side of the roster
0 -
Err... she does take skill.
Mastering her means mastering tracking by sound. On paper, this is easy. For the most part, you'd be right... because most don't realize what you can even do once she's phasing.
Iron Will removes your sound when injured. When if she has Stridor, you're muffled so that tracking is difficult until she's right on you.
But there's something everyone can do without a perk... just crouch. Seriously, just crouch. The muffled sound can easily trick a Spirit into phasing *past* you and completely throw her off on your whereabouts. If you're at a loop, you can even drop a pallet and she won't be able to make it to you until her duration runs dry, and then she's a powerless 4.4 killer waiting on recovery.
You have to learn and anticipate the variation in the sounds. This goes double if using Stridor since you have to constantly adjust if you play other killers.
Of course, as for telling if she's phasing.... well, I never said Spirit was necessarily *fair* now, did I?

This is a silly biased statement assuming everyone who is running her is wearing top of the line headsets.
I myself played her a year before I even bought a cheap pair of headphones.
Also, so many people just cry about killers with no skill.
DS, Freddy, Spirit, Hag, LF, etc. Supposedly no skill. But , survivor, where you have to do 25% of the work, half of which is just doing a genny, oh that is skill.
Sorry, but you have a serious case, of Git Gud!!!

Scott even did new video yesterday about spirit. It proves my point. Spirit needs to be nerfed to the ground in order to balanced game
0 -
Ok.

"ScOtT DiD a vIdEo"
Jesus just play the freaking game and stop listening to salty survivors
Like I mentioned before, the sound of survivors "lags" so it takes a bit of time before u know exactly where they are which can still be faked, they can do a 360 and run away easily
Stridor doesnt make iron will make a sound, I dont know if it should but 100% volume I still cant hear them when injured
She does move corn, grass and scares crows as she moves
Dont wait around pallets as you will 100% get hit
Dont drop the pallet and slowly vault back towards the killer, thats literaly the 1st thing I check for and 90% of red rank players do it
Dont wait around windows
Speaking of windows and fences this goes for every killer, Dont think u can be hit over them, if ur too close u can be hit over it
If you want more information play the gayme
If she was that OP as alot of people say everyone would play her, I myself rarely play her
3 -
You are terrible at this game honestly. You just think spirit is balanced because she is not popular? (She is really popular btw). She takes no skill. She is not like nurse. At least when i face good nurse, i would say hmm well she is good at least. But spirit hell no. She has no counterplays and you even claimed she is weak
0 -
Ah yes ur right, I'm horrible at this game, thats why I'm rank 1 consistently and constantly while playing against SWF with different killers such as oni, doc, wraith, trapper, clown, nurse, bubba, hillbilly, and one of least played are Freddy, then PH, then spirit.... but yes it's totaly the one killers fault I'm rank 1, the killer I barely ever play... last time I played her was during the event that was what 3 weeks ago?
EDIT: wanna play KYF with me? I'd be happy to show you she isnt OP and show you how I play as trapper compared
EDIT2: I can see by your profile ur either new at the game or just a burner account troll, well if ur new I'm gonna give u the advice, that I gave previously, dont let others tell u something is OP.
Play, learn, adapt. I watch OTZ and I think he's a really good killer, but I do notice some mistakes he does and I dont always agree with what he says, I hear what he says and I think about it and then I test it myself :)

Spirit is much like nurse. As a survivor you can only make it harder for her but ultimately hit or no hit depends on the killer. There is a lot of mindgames when it comes to her. I completely disagree that spirit doesnt take skill. It definitely does. You need to make reads, predictions and guesses.
But I would like to see her stand still mindgame go. It is unhealthy for her and she definitely doesn't need it. Its just frustrating.
0 -
If you play as spirit enough you will see that there is counter play to her. If you don't want to play as spirit go watch videos of people counter playing her.
That goes with any killer if you don't play both sides it's easy to just say that killer is op.
2 -
I played a spirit game while drunk yesterday and only got a 3k
0 -
Hope all these "spirit requires skills" players dont complain about ds and ub
0 -
If I may ask, how often do you play as Spirit, instead of playing against her?
She is a very strong killer, which is fine, but she is not invincible and not everyone can easily get a 4k with her. I am not going to name all of her counter plays, because @Klakky has already done so, but I assure that she demands a lot of skill and map knowledge.

Hitting a DS skillcheck is op and requires no skill!!!1!1!!!!1!111
0 -
Haven’t heard anyone say hag took no skill.
Anyway got any tips for fighting spirit? I do terrible against her
0 -
Nerfed it to the ground would only cause the opposite problem where nobody plays spirit at all. I want her to be strong bu not unfair like her current form
1 -
Freddy already fills that role just fine
0 -
This is about spirit not survivors
0 -
Well I think zero is wrong. You will start out pretty crappy with her power, but once you do figure it out and know a few tricks , she's pretty strong.
Also, who cares what he said. Anyone can say anything, doesn't mean he's right just cause he's experienced.
People need to see when she leaves the husk, few can already see the subtle cues and it makes it a lot easier to make decisions against her. Also helps counter fakes. Since most can't see it or refuse to try, they should just make it an actual feature if it's just a bug.
Doesn't make her ggez, but it makes chases much more fair.

I mean her shards glow when you’re pretty much inside her model so that’s not going to work and things like hair glitching or animation changes are bugs and not intended.
just make her shards glow really bright for the time she is phasing and make pain sounds non directional and you’ve got a deal imo
0 -
it doesn't take 0 skill, sure it takes LESS than other but someone who has never played a game in their life with probably (extremely likely) get 0k against any somewhat competent player quad.
0 -
Because we havent seen this kinda post a million times....
0 -
Yes, exactly.
First, Iron Will is a strong perk, I run it in my build. It is a big help. But if you do not want to the same tactics to counter spirit apply. First she has a cooldown, so try to play around this. If she just phased across the map to where you are, then tries to stand still and fake it at a loop, obviously she is on cool down and can not phase yet. Never fall for the stand still play, if she does do it, start walking towards another loop.
If you are in chase with her and she has her power you can loop her like other killers. See if she is a chaser or a phaser. If she just chases then you just loop normally, if she is a phaser during loops, then you have to be unpredictable. But it is as much 50/50 for her as well. Never just camp a pallet because she will come out of phase and get you. The old fast vault a window and slow vault back can be effective as well. You are constantly trying to make distance from her. Kinda like a doctor, always be breaking away towards other loops.
The other thing with her is to leave a bit early. If you hear her coming creep away towards where you want to start a loop. Like I said after her phase she is on cooldown and will need to recharge. If you are running from her, look behind you. You can see her stop and stand still if she starts to phase. That is when you walk towards a different direction. Not towards her, never towards her unless you are really familiar with how she works.
Spirit is all about mindgames. So you have to ######### with her the same way she wants to do with you. Need to break LOS as much as possible and break away towards other areas, in unpredictable ways. She is strong after the first hit, so like Oni, try to avoid getting that first hit as long as possible. May have to throw pallets early. And gen rush, gen rush, gen rush. But, not to the point you stay on the genny when she may be coming. It is better to sneak away and be sure she is not coming to your genny and go back then to let her get that early first hit.
0 -
Stop falling for the stand still mind game, and you'll see she's easy to beat.
Stop trying to hide in front of her, break LOS and then hide
Keep your eye on her in chase
There's all sorts of ways to counter her if you stop and use your brain that's what it's there for
2 -
These make sense. Too bad stridor kinda nullifies a lot of them but good spirits don’t need it anyway
0 -
Yeah, I am not a fan of running stridor on Spirit. But the tactics remain the same. Albeit a bit harder
