Anyone ever going to look at the second chance survivor meta we've had for how many years now?
Honestly don't understand why ruin and undying are getting nerfed when d-strike/unbreakable/dead hard/borrowed time are still perfectly fine. It's like every time a killer meta emerges it's immediately nerfed but survivors have been running these perks for years because of how hard they carry survivor matches and this isn't worth a look?
I know y'all already know but goddamn guys. Make survivor skilful.

They're the only perks that deal with camping/tunneling/and slugging. Either deal with those playstyles first or buff the survivor perks since a lot of them are trash

That doesn’t mean those perks shouldn’t get a toned down. Right now those perks are doing far more than just countering camping and tunnelling

So we can't camp, slug or tunnel, and everytime we get a good gen protector combo it gets nerfed. What are we supposed to do then?

Yeah I would like that. I have absolutely no problem with buffing weak perks, as long as it’s fair.

I have no problems with BT, it could use a buff against stealth killers if anything.
DS should actually be anti tunneling and not just a get out of jail free card.
Unbreakable could use some sort of requirement to use and not just “oops I went down, but hey I have a perk so it doesn’t matter”

They gotta be prepared doesn't matter. I hate running these perks cause I usually get no value from them but I hate not having them when the situation calls for it

BT is mostly fine, except when a survivor literally stays in your face with it because free invincibility and sprint burst. A visual indicator would be nice for those survivors who want to play like that, and in return make it work based on actual distance, not terror radius.

I mean it’s usually pretty obvious when they have it, when they run back to block you or start spinning in circles or something.
I just count to 15 and see if I can wait it out, then usually just down them again and eat the DS and tunnel them. It’s the risk you take!
So I have no problem with DS for that reason but when I eat the random 55 second DSs from full health survivors on generators it’s infuriating.

These perks could be nerfed, some of them could even be incorporated into the base kit of all survivors to address that sort of killer playstyle. I'd be okay with that.

Well, technically It was not a nerf but a buff...Before If you where not the OoO you had to charge the wiggle bare before you could get out..Now, you basically have 60 seconds where the killer can not touch you.

No because second-chance perks will ALWAYS be meta, for either side.
Any perk that allows you to make mistakes and not be punished (or be punished less) will find a spot in the meta.
The reason why a lot of Killers hate DH and DS is the same reason why Survivors hate NOED and Ruin/Undying.
They both perceive it as the player getting second chances and being able to make mistakes more often than they should.

Technically, slugging is a result of the dstrike/borrow time meta.
Camping will never go away cause It is a salt farming type of ordeal.
Tunneling is usually a result of wanting to pick a player off fast.
I would also say not a lot of survior perks are trash..Just, they are not a bunch of free second chances so everyone over looks them.
However,I would say I would nerf Dstrike and buff Flip-flop.

How come survivors never have to git gud? It's funny how you say these things, but after every nerf, killers adapt... And get nerfed more.

I never understand what the whole gripe about "slugging" being toxic is. I'm assuming only low rank survivors believe this.
When you are slugged, you don't lose a hook state. You can move around. How is this worse than being on a hook?
The Killer slugs tactically - it is a choice. They gain a lot of short-term pressure in exchange for not taking one of your finite health states. It is better sometimes to leave you on the ground than stun themselves for about 20 seconds putting someone on a Hook. Most Second-Chance perks, especially the DS/UB combo basically guarantee a free slug recovery from a survivor, which in is a down from a killer that could be a hook. Basically, second chance perks make survivors have to be downed 16 times instead of 12 total.

The only way to end a meta in this game is to create a new one. Just like old ruin was meta for a VERY long time, and then once it was reworked mainly people started using pop and maybe ruin for early game gen regression before it was cleansed. After that undying came out, creating a new meta. Now that undying is getting SLIGHTLY nerf’d (I mean slightly bc honestly the token carry over is honestly excellent and half the time I brought ruin/undying undying always got found first anyway) people will either continue to use it or combine other perks to create a new meta.
Survivors need a perk as interesting as undying otherwise why would they stray from the current meta builds. Unfortunately in a game like dbd most people are going to play strong builds especially if they don’t enjoy losing to the other side. If you want to get rid of the current meta ask the devs to make some undesirable perks like boil over better. Unbreakable and decisive are not going anywhere and no matter what tweaks they make they will always be meta, they’ve been meta for years now.
The only reason any person who doesn’t want to lose would swap out a perk like decisive/unbreakable is for an even more powerful/interesting perk. Unless a survivor is overly confident in their gameplay or if they’re just running super niche builds, they will keep running the current meta just as mainly killers do. I will admit as killer I run meta builds and as survivor I do the exact same, it’s just the nature of the game that encourages you to run powerful perks.

No a lot of them are trash and are situational.
Last time I checked a lot of perks don't counter act the tunneling/slugging and camping that killers do so most survivors don't wanna use them

If all four survivors go down without picking anybody up then you all made pretty big mistakes and deserve to get slapped for it. The first chase in the game should technically be the longest because survivors have literally every pallet on the map up. If you get slugged at 5 gens, you either weren't doing gens or are bad at chasing.

I mean if I down a survivor and go to the other side of the map and keep slugging for no reason it's okay. And speaking from experience I had a wraith do this to me in a match and we still got all 5 gens done but it took longer than it should have. Also if the killer is slugging I will keep doing gens lmao

If he goes across the map from his slug then someone will go pick the slug up. He should have hooked the one he downed because if someone picks up a slug he effectively just injured the person and they are no closer to death.

IMO the only meta perk that needs to be restricted is DS, OoO is another one but that perk just needs a total rework.
DS allows for saves and complete immunity to be punished combined with unbreakable, the main issue is using that immunity to do gens so imo the best nerf is simply to deactivate it if a survivor works on a gen because if they aren't doing gens they are not progressing the game.

Well, I got a counter for slugging and tunneling..Actually try to lose the killer and not play ring around the rosie with them. People try that and when the killer gets enrage and decides they don't wanna play that game ofcrouse they are gonna camp you.
