The hypocrisy in the "Why do Survivors get more hook info in the new UI than killers?" statement

counterpoint, minus a few perks that are slightly imbalanced (e.g. object of obsession) the balance of information provided is in a good place at the moment and is only imbalanced by SWF external communication, giving survivors information to get them up to SWF level without counterbalancing for killers (or removing killer information as you strangely suggested for some reason) will just imbalance the game
and as I've already said a separated hook counter for killers wouldn't encourage tunneling because if a killer is going to tunnel they'll still do exactly what they do now and go back to the hook as soon as the survivor is unhooked and only chase them with no need for the counter.

yea, in a game where you're getting hooks back to back or the survivors are hook bombing and you end up hooking 3 at the same time it can become nigh impossible to keep track.

yup undying's been used as a band-aid to protecting totems because they're so poorly hidden and can spawn so close to survivors.
and ruin has been used for a long time as a band-aid to slow down gen speeds because otherwise survivors just gen rush and the game doesn't last long enough.

not nefarious, just not well thought out looking at all the information available with a response to the community that in of itself is a double standard, they made the wrong call and i'm disagreeing with it.

just played my first game with the new ui, not only is the killer hook widget useless its a screen hog.

I think the point they're trying to make is if it's so easy to keep track mentally, why not have it displayed on the UI?

relevant meme.

I have to agree with the previous points - if I am going to tunnel, a hook counter isn't going to prevent me from doing so.
On the other hand, if I am not actively paying attention, then seeing a survivor at 2 hooks veruss another at 0 may steer me to to the one with 0. This has already occured in a few matches where I hooked someone and said "oops" - particulary when they are wearing the same clothing.
The devs made a guess and it was wrong.

Made a corresponding suggestion post.

BHVR are really out of touch

Tunnelling will happen with or with out the killer seeing hook counter.
Especially with undying being nerfed into the ground.
If im going against a sweaty 4 stack and i need to slug people its gets easy to lose track of who i just down most of the match and who i actually hook sometimes.
Or at least have the hook counter track actual hooks and not just stages lol

Yeah, this is really dumb. BHVR again showing thier obvious survivor bias. As well as seeming confusion about how the game is played.
2 -
yea, they think they're combating toxicity by not giving killer a useful hook counter because they think it would promote tunneling,
but think its fine when talking about the new animations to promote that "you can still teabag" rather than just saying crouch speeds will be unaffected.
2 -
if anything i'd see this reducing tunneling overall by preventing accidental tunneling as most killers try to avoid possibly getting hit with decisive strike.

If the devs actually cared about tunneling, they would create a built-in feature to counter rather than sticking it to a perk that one half way does the job. More so now with the announced changes.

I'm woth you on that one

Dwight is a color
finally

We now need Dwight colored locker interiors and a new animation for grabbing Dwight out of the lockers where the killer looks around for a moment before seeing him.

This really is something they should be giving to killers. It won't encourage any kind of tactical play outside of "oh well he probably still has DS so I'll chase someone else." If someone wants to tunnel they don't give a damn about your DS or how much fun you are having, having a bit of extra info changes nothing for players like that.

With the new UI I can't even tell when someone is getting actively chased, so OP's point is a bottom drawer type issue for me.

its the good old BHVR way, optional band aid solutions to game breaking problems.

The UI's getting changed to be easier to look at and use in the next hotfix patch so your point's a little irrelevant.
While this might not be game-breaking and super high priority, it is an issue we should be discussing. As the Dev's try to bring solo queue up to SWF level stuff like this is only going to add up and make the killer experience worse if not counterbalanced.

And like i said, the UI's been changed to be easier to look at and use as of today.
