Planned Decisive Strike (DS) and its timer

Hey all!

I'm a survivor main but still think the DS nerf was needed and is a very good approach to a fair experience. So.. good job on that. (thumbsup)


With the new conditions DS deactivates on, I was wondering if the timer should be removed. You'd have it like now (1 time use, deactivates on certain conditions [proposal: also deactivates when you recovered from dying to injured?] but lasts indefinitely as long as you're doing nothing / lying on the ground).


I think this would punish tunnelers who really have to make the decision between eating DS or go for another survivor, instead of keep tunneling, slugging for 60s and proceed hooking the tunneled survivor.

I genuinely don't see a way this change could be abused:

  • You are getting tunneled -> slugged: Killer still gets punished for tunneling, but survivor can't do anything because they're lying on the ground. -> Tunneling still is a strategy for killers but a painful one if there are DS's in the lobby.
  • --> Also, if a survivor decides to teabag in front of you and desperately wants to get down, you can just smack them and have 1 survivor less to care about while they're on the ground.
  • You are not getting tunneled: DS deactivates under the new conditions and all is fine.


Oh, and this also would remove the annoying cases where the killer literally waits 60s before he picks you up. With this, he either will pick you up instantly or does not.

I do play killer but not as often as I play survivor, so maybe I overlooked something.

What are your thoughts on that? :)
