Lovecraftian/Eldritch Horror chapter.
I've been playing DBD for almost 4 years now and I'm still hoping for a Lovecraftian chapter. I noticed past discussions about how the killer would work talk about a madness mechanic or how indescribable creatures wouldn't make sense in DBD and even the excuse that DBD already has Lovecraft in the lore so we don't need a chapter. The thing is, we can look to Howard's books, existing games, and even movies for some kind of inspiration for the killer. I've been toying with the idea of Bloodbornes Brainsuckers in DBD or at least his power, shooting slow moving spheres of light to trap or even damage survivors. Any other ideas?

We can also use the lore for inspiration in the design of the killer and the occupation of the survivor, in one entry the Observer was attacked by "Squid-like creatures hard to describe" and other entries suggest people like the Observer are equipped to fight or at least run from creatures like this.

It's hard to say. In itself, the Entity is a being of cosmic eldritch horror. Being a formless, timeless being... If ticks a lot of the checkmarks.
The problem with having a Lovecraftian chapter is none of them are really... Run of the mill monsters. A lot of the named creatures are literal gods, gigantic and without form. Lovecraftian Mythos just doesn't really fit the bill that much. It'd be like trying to make a chapter based on Uzumaki.
That being said, a Nightgaunt would still be cool.
And I'm still hoping for a sea themed killer. Like a corrupted sailor, some form of pirate.

That's the thing, it doesn't have to be some space god or formless being. Monsters like Gug or Wilber Whatley or even Deep Ones were Lovecrafts true specialty. His most terrifying monsters were weak and timid, the true horror coming from the implication of their existence not their physical strength or ability to warp the cosmos.

That's fair. I've always found the best horror in the existentialism the larger creatures bring. Good old squid-face. Especially Azazoth.
There's also the unique issue with Lovecraft's works being Public Domain, and just how many people have contributed to the Mythos. I'm not exactly sure how they would incorporate a public domain chapter.

Yeah, that's a big oversight on my part. But I'd be satisfied if it had anything to do with cosmic horror in general, if they pulled one of those squid things straight from the Archives and let me play it as a killer I'd be happy. Or maybe even have an Entity cultist that can summon Entity claws like in Endgame Collapse. Or even some disfigured killer from/on the brink of going to The Void. There's a lot of things they have in the lore already, they need only to give them shapes in the game.

The Entity itself is Cosmic Horror enough for me, but I definitely wouldn't mind more obvious nods to the eldritch. With the release of Blight, they seem to be going with very lore heavy original killers, so I'd be genuinely surprised if we don't eventually get an entity cult killer, seeing as how we already have a couple anti-Entity group survivors

Grab Abeloth from Star Wars. She's basically an Eldritch horror.

An image of me talking about having a spooky squid monster added to the game whilst simultaneously arguing that there are limits to what killers can be added to the game

I want a pirate or a knight. A lovecraftian Davey Jones type killer would be dope.

I suggest this bad boy
