99% the gates
As a person who plays both sides I believe that 99% the gates it's an exploit, making you cheat the End Game Collapse. You can literally 99% them and go do what you have to do without being pressured by the time, knowing that all you have to do is TAP the gate switch and escape.
In my opinion Gate Switch should start slowly regressing if the survivors let go of it. This way the survivors will have to either open the gate and suffer the End Game Collapse ( the way it should be ) or spend more seconds until opening the gate ( depending on how much progress it lost due to regression )
What is your thoughts guys? I hope the devs will read this

I really like this idea.

Open them yourself if it bothers you. It's a tactic not an exploit.

The EGC wasnt implemented to apply pressure but to force the game to an end when Survivors refuse to exit, no more people running the Killer for 10 minutes with the gates opened or someone urban evading in a corner of the map for laughs and giggles, thats also the reason Killers can open gates if they feel they are just being bullied so they can force the trial to end.
The whole "99% voids the pressure EGC" is moot since it wasnt conceived to apply pressure in the first case.

Yup, I've always supported this idea & I think it would make survivors think twice about saving someone rather than going off willy-nilly knowing that they have a safety net waiting for them.
To be fair, all a survivor has to do is stand next to the gate and occasionally tap it to stop it from regressing, so I don't see the problem. If there's 1 person on the hook & 3 survivors, 1 can stay by the exit gate and the other 2 can go for the save. Simple as that.

The End Game Collapse was never meant to favor one side.
It was meant to end hatch stand offs and people holding the game hostage after getting all gens done.
It doesn't need any changes

I think the exit gate progress should regress to around 50 or 75% progress. Currently it makes it too easy for survivors to 99 one or both gates and then go back in for saves. It should be a hard/risky decision for the survivor to either make preparations to leave, or go back into the map, currently it's not even a decision, 99 the gates then go do other things.
Let's face it, if the Killer is going to win, usually they'll have already won the match whilst generators are still active. Usually if the game gets to this point, the survivors are winning, and this just gives them even more advantage to further solidify their win. Especially if there are 3 or more people left. If there are 2 or less people left then they are much less likely to go back in for saves, so being able to 99 the gates is less important anyway. It just seems to benefit survivors in games where they are already significantly winning, and they don't need help in this scenario.

Blood Warden does need a buff. Most builds with it are kinda poinless, because survivors 99% the gates.
In other words, another killer perk which is rendered completely useless, because of survivor actions.

It's fine the way it is.
Just open the gate yourself if you want pressure on the survivors.

The EGC isn't about pressure, it's about ending the game. And the Developers tried various ways (internally) of changing the 99% gate mechanic and they all felt pretty bad which is why it was decided to go with the killer having the ability of opening the gate - that way if the survivors are not starting EGC and are just mucking around, the killer can force the end of the match.
Just to re-emphasis EGC is purely to end the game, nothing to do with one side or the other.

99ing the doors can sometimes cause survivors to die. I personally hate when fellow survivors 99 them, HOWEVER, disagree with this post in its entirety. It’s not an exploit. People really throw around that term so loosely here. You can open the gates yourself or suck it up.

I hate a 99% gate. I realize it doesn't take much time to finish opening it, but I've had several times where it was the difference between making it out or getting downed just a step or two from escaping. I probably piss people off, but if I'm standing next to someone opening a gate and they walk away at 99% I will immediately walk up and finish opening with them still standing there.

I have a proposed buff to Remember Me that might counter door 99-ing. I once saw this in another thread :
Survivors need to complete a secondary gate opening sequence to open the exit gates. This sequence requires 0/1/2 seconds to complete
Every time you hit the Obsession, gain a token
Each token prolongs said sequence by 4 seconds. You can have a maximum of 2/3/4 tokens
The Obsession opens exit gates 5%/10%/15% slower
Basically you're running from the killer and you've 99'ed the gates. Then the moment it opens, a second progress bar appears and you end up going down. It makes adept Freddy dangerous since if you open the gates too quickly, you might trigger Blood Warden. Also the obsession debuff is so that this perk doesn't encourage tunneling.
