We need dbd 2

i think the game is now officially too broken to be fixed, they need to move on and do a better game with what worked on this one.

But at the same time i don't think they can replicate the success of dbd, i begin to wonder if they know why it worked.

Anyway would you like a dbd 2 that fixes some issue of the game? or would you prefer they make fixes patches? what would you like change, kept or added?

I want them to just thoroughly fix everything, releasing game health patches, not useless updates to graphics and such. I loved the game concept, characters and gameplay when I got in and that's why I'm still here. I don't think the game is broken beyond repair, I really believe that serious work on every bug will fix it. The thing is, devs seems to not realize that. If they're concerned about money I don't understand it either - money flows to the good games, not the unplayable ones. Besides, with the poor optimization they lost a part of playerbase who doesn't own the top tier gadgets yet could run the dbd before all those graphic bugged updates.

Doing a sequel to a live service game as unique as DBD could be tricky. Would BHVR have to renegotiate all the licencing deals for the killers? There is no way a DBD 2 could release with the same content as DBD and not everyone would move over to the sequel, so BHVR would be competing with themselves for a long time. I think this is as good as it gets for DBD.

We don't need a dbd2, we need them to clean up their code for good and get their priorities in order.

Right now it all feels like they are doing everything to mock the community

    Make it a horror game.

I'm literally working on a 4v1 horror game right now just because this one sucks at both being a 4v1 and a horror game.

I mean, supposedly there are 600+ people at BHVR. Given the speed and quality of updates and fixes, I can't imagine there are more than 50 actually working on the game. How many Q&A session questions about implementing certain features get answers like "It's been talked about, but it's not currently in the plan/won't happen for a very long time"?

Assuming there ARE only 50 people or less working on DbD - what are the rest of the 500+ doing? Possibly they are indeed working on a sequel... Who knows? People commenting here saying a sequel isn't worth it since it'd compete with DbD don't understand the hype that can be built around sequels and the financial blessing that can come with it. If sequels from the same company were never worth it due to competing with the old product then they'd never be made, yet...they are made.

Starting from scratch with a sequel allows the company to regroup and build from the ground up with knowledge and lessons learned from the first game to put out an even better, more stable, and more efficient product. Many times, sticking with a broken/less than perfect product ends up being a wasted effort, but with a sequel, finally they can do all the things they wish they could do with DbD but can't due to various restrictions or difficulties caused during initial development.

If there is no sequel coming, one thing we can hope to look forward to is Back 4 Blood, the supposed spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead. Obviously it'll be different than DbD but, may still be able to scratch that horror multiplayer itch.
