My thoughts on the DS nerf
So im just gonna be direkt here: its BS.
and no, im not trying to defend DS by any means, i totally agree that it should get nerfed and that the perk itself is huge BS too, but you are putting waay too much effort into it, its almost absurd.
in my opinion, you dont need any ogf this "can be activated with e and will put the broken status effect on you" or the newer "can be activated with e and will only stun the killer in place". that way, in my opinion, you just have a ton of unnecessary programming to do, which will end in us waiting forever for the much needed nerfs.
heres my, much simpler solution:
DS will still free you from the killers grasp. this works ONLY when you hit a tremendously hard skillcheck, once per match and for the obsession.
that way, we will only have 1 DS per game, the killer knows who has it and is able to play around this person.
in my eyes, the main problem with DS atm is, that you never know who has it, so you cant plan around it and it can easily screw you completely over, especially if there is 2 or more. also, its really unfair, when more than one person can get off your shoulders for free.
what are your thoughts on this?
do you like DS the way it is now?
do you like my idea?
do you like the devs idea?
or do you have your own idea?
please tell me in the comments below!
have a wonderful day!

DS should only trigger on first hook. It should trigger BEFORE the actual pickup. It shouldn't be 'obsession based'. It should a firm one time, one chance '**** YOU, KILLER'. No surprises, no real counter. OR it should be removed completely.

All those "hard skillcheck" is doing NOTHING to balance the perk.
Because the problem is with good survivor. Those will hit the skillcheck anyway. These are the player that just ignore Ruin and power through it with great checks.
It only punishes lesser skillful player that struggle to hit those skillchecks.
DS would remain a red rank issue.0 -

have a wonderful day!We already have activatable perks in the game, the programming they have to do is laughable tbh.
There are two problems with your idea:
1. Skillchecks are hit on high ranks and this is where DS is the real problem
2. What happens with non-obsession DS? Are they just running a dead perk? But I agree too, the DS nerf is going into the compeltely wrong direction because it needs SWF coordination to make it use and then it is similar to the old DS.
I prefered their first idea to apply the no-mither effect afetr you used DS (but make him only be able to use DS if he hasnt been hooked yet)0 -

DS would remain a red rank issue.again: you can play around it as killer. one DS is not really a problem, multiple Dstrikes are. the skillcheck will remain unchanged, it will simply be a once per game perk.

and yes, if there is 2 Dstrikes in the game, only the obsession will have it. the other one will have to play with 3 perks. That way, its actually a high risk - high reward perk, just like NOED. a lot of killers play the game with only 3 perks, and the 4th doesnt even activate in the end game, so why not for survivors too? the perk is powerful enough to be worth this risk.0 -

how would that make SWF stronger? because only one of them can use DS now? sry, but i dont get your point there...

Because they can coordinate who takes DS and can avoid picking multiple ones, runing aroudn with dead perks

yet, that would still be much weaker than a 4 man SWF all running DS
