Dead Hard change
Hello everyone. How are all? I hope you're well. I have seen many against Dead Hard and some of their justifications are completely ok... now I don't think it needs a "nerf" as per se, but a condition to be activated. Why? Dead Hard is not used to get distance like any other exhaustion perk but it's used to negate a hit that otherwise should have put you down, and it doesn't have a side effect, I mean technically you become Exhausted but even that can be negated with Adrenaline. Every survivor perk that gives you a reward, generally comes with a condition, Deliverance "you can unhook yourself BUT... you have to save someone else first" , Mettle of Man "You can endure a killer's hit BUT you have to protect others" and three times, Second Wind "you can get a complete health state for free BUT... you need to heal someone completely first" and the list can go on. My condition is pretty easy and has sense with David's lore also
After you received a protection hit Dead Hard becomes active (only works when injured)... and you know the rest.
What do you think of this change? I do believe that this would make it fairest. Do you want to undo a mistake, a bad mindgame perhaps? Sure, but you need to do something else first.

I really don't agree with this thread's analysis. There are tons of Survivor perks that give rewards with no conditions besides perhaps a cooldown and the Perk Slot, and I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.
Dead Hard is usually railed against because it's the most popular Exhaustion Perk, and Exhaustion Perks are strong in general. However, one has to bear in mind that if Dead Hard were to be nerfed too much, as I feel you've suggested, people would just start using Sprint Burst instead, which isn't that far off in power.
IMO the simplest nerf would be reducing its overall speed. If it was given a unique animation to keep its use readable for Killers, but it didn't speed up the Survivor as much, for example.
People's main complaint about Dead Hard is that it's an on-demand way to make some extra distance, and in many loops that difference allows Survivors to get an extra loop. Those kind of changes would be targeted at this use of Dead Hard, which is supposed to be precisely what the Perk isn't good for.
