Preventing Camping situation

The thought I have for camping. Would be if the killer is face camping or still inside heartbeat radius the survivor hooked would not have their health continue to go down.

I'd rather have Camaraderie be buffed to work on both hook stages and tell other players the one on the hook has it. By default, I think camping can be part of the game, specially if a survivor wants to loop around the hook or in a 3 gen situation.

Besides, using the heartbeat is not really a fix. If it was gonna be this way, it would be better be according to distance. But then again, you could just loop the killer at the hook with little pressure being pushed to the survivor team, so I don't really agree with it.

This was already tried before and Survivors abused it to oblivion, also this wouldn't really fix the issue, undetectable would still allow you to face camp, so it would probably become Insidious Bubba meta.

Maybe if killer is within 16m of the hooked survivor and there is no other survivor within 24m of the hooked survivor for 10s, the timer can slow down or even pause.

This was tried a long time ago. Didn't work and it was abused.

I'd be open to trying it again, if only to prove it still won't work.

This discussion is only a suggestion. Camping has always been an issue, I've been in more matches with campers then I have with a good killer. I didn't know they had already tried this, thank you for informing me. But they need to find something that sits between the killers and survivors. So the killers dont camp and so the survivors don't abuse it. I also don't understand how survivors could abuse it

Camping is a failure of the Survivors to lure & occupy the Killer away from the hooked person.

It's super easy to abuse. Just have a 2nd survivor pretending to hook bomb. The killer either stays and stops the survivor from unhooking, allowing the hooked survivor's bar to stay still, or the killer has to leave, allowing the unhook. Lose-lose situation for the killer.

Camping and tunneling is sadly a part of the game and imho it can never be stopped by any means unless the whole system changes. We should focus on thinking about a system where tunneling and camping dont exists but I do not know what that would be.

That seems like a logical solution and for those who say "you just weren't good enough" LOL everyone gets hooked and if you do with someone who is face camping then your done, there goes the game, its dumb? Why do it? Its not a "tactic" its cheesy gameplay to win thats all.

I rather face a camper than not play.

If u do that, killers will just not play and this game will die.

If u want this game to continue, u need to leave killers alone.

The devs are not gonna play killer to help survivor queue. Even the mods are survivor mains.

so I guess legion's Iri button would be even more useless, I guess distressing would be even more useless, this idea just won't let the killer play the game. you get a hook they have no knowledge exactly how far out their TR goes and if it's intersecting with a hooked survivor, and any gens within the TR of the hook would not be able to be defended. I guess all you want is easy wins, how about no killers in the queue, would you like that?

Survivors have crows for inaction so there has to be a way they can merge that with camping killers. If they are inactive (shorter time than survs get crows please) , the hook timer stops but if a survivor tries to take advantage of that situation and starts looping the killer around the hooked survivor, because the killer would be in a chase and active, the hook would resume.

That would stop either part taking advantage of that situation, I hope. I mean, cheaters will always find a way to cheat but I think this would stop both from being idiots.

That's not entirely true. There are campers that don't leave. I found one at cold wind yesterday that hooked a survivor in the basement (shack) and stood at the entrance door pointing the harpoon at the window.

I was doing a gen nearby and saw a Nea coming to the rescue so I got ready for Nea to take the killer away and go down to unhook. The killer just wouldn't budge. Only hit Nea when she got close enough but that was it.

She healed, I tried distracting him and would not move off the door frame.

There was nothing we could do so we had to leave the Dwight down there and hope he didn't suicide to give us time.

But camping isn't really playing, is it?

There is one chase all game, maybe 2, no breaking pallets, gens, etc; no points for finding survs, pression, and 4 gens done by the time the hooked guy dies.

And don't forget you won't win either. You'll be lucky if you get 0

And that's a great example of how people will always exploit and try to take advantage of a situation.

It's a shame, really. I didn't know it had been trialed and failed before so thank you.

Seems like what we have now is the best of the worst case.

I'd like to add that all the survs that complain when killers camp (I know I have but during a match and at my TV not on game chat or anything like that) I understand you killers, I do not support you but I see where the anger comes from. I've seen survs taking the absolute piss of you when you had been playing fair and then they complain they get camped or tunneled. Easy fix: don't be a d**k

Camping is playing. Crouching in the corner while ur team dies is also playing. Unless ur afk, ur playing.

Ppl play for variety of reasons and have different opinions on what they want to do.

I dont care if I win. Many times I've made epic end game collapse saves from camping killers. Other times I end up dying w the other survivor, or been left to die.
