New Survivor will be LGBT
Okay so I think I have cracked the code on the new survivor and the hints they have been dropping. So they have yet to reveal the face of the new survivor? Why is that? But they reveal the body and not the face. I believe the face will be somewhat masculine. Also lets go on to the coloring of the Mightee 1 entertainment banner on their twitter. It is blue and pink fading together. Blue representing boy and pink representing girl. Mighty one. Like both coming together to be one. I really feel very strongly that this is the case. The killer on the other hand I have no idea about... Thoughts!?
EDIT: I just wanted to add that the point of this post was to take a guess at what the teasers are leading up to. All in the good fun of seeing if my prediction is correct and share it with the community.

I thought about them being Trans because of the color scheme. Honestly I'm for it, it's a nice change of pace. But i just hope they incorporate them being Trans as contribution to their story and not just they are Trans just because. I want it to feel genuine and not forced.
19 -
Yeah, wasn't the transgender flag pink-white-blue? Would make sense.
6 -
The color scheme on that photo is know as Bisexual lighting. Purple, Blue, and Pink
27 -
Yeah it just makes too much sense. Also that's why they are focusing on the survivor so much because its kind of a big deal for the game and a lot of people have been wanting it.
5 -
Yeah I am thinking LGBT survivor for sure. All the evidence points to that.
5 -
Change your title to "New Survivor MIGHT be transgender". Paulie Esther already covered this, it's more likely to be a bisexual character.
14 -
Honestly i just updated to LGBT for simplicity. And I have no idea who that is haha
2 -
YAY! It's about time! Think about what this will do to the current gameplay!
Oh, right. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
67 -
As long as they have good perks and don't make annoying sounds they can make the new survivor be whatever they want.
8 -
Ok
53 -
It'll be interesting for sure. I really don't care about the orientation. The dress looks sick though
2 -
It will bring tangible representation to a certain demographic. Ppl gravitate to spaces where they feel INCLUDED, and they'll naturally want to join in. So yes, I think this will change the current gameplay, because YES, more players mean a stronger community and hopefully faster queue times.
31 -
I find it weird that people care about this at all instead of the dozens of ways the game is going to break after the next patch.
"Sounds are still broken, the meta is still stagnant, the new maps are unbalanced and there's bugs out the ass in almost every game mechanic. But hey, the newest character might have my preferred sexuality!"
37 -
That's a Mister Fantastic level of reach.
Maybe if this were Dragon Age or Mass Effect, but this is a game where every Survivor is a paper doll with exchangeable perks. Whatever "lore" the character has is as relevant as the ingredients on the back of a shampoo bottle you read because you forgot to take your phone into the bathroom.
And no, it won't change gameplay. You cannot name one game mechanic that will be altered with this move. They can do it if the want, but thinking this will speed up your queue times is wishful thinking AT BEST.
32 -
This will end well.
16 -
Not everything has to be a massive shift in current gameplay. Sometimes it's just nice to have people feel like they're cared about too.
17 -
Then what's the harm in indulging in wishful thinking? Who and how is the game being harmed by offering inclusion and representation? If it won't change gameplay, why complain? And if it does, how awesome! Do you need a hug, Debbie Downer? Cuz I've got extras 🤗
13 -
I kinda think a character that has masculine and femine outfits would be pretty cute tbh.
Be it crossdressing, transgender; however they went about it.
7 -
Holy canoli, the art department could have a field day with this 😳
5 -
New players for survivor would increase the survivor q that players already complain takes to long. They should make the killer LGBT so new players go for that role instead. 😂
16 -
I've seen people say they'll stop playing if character is LGBT. 😂 Glad to see lore that has no impact on gameplay causes people to quit not the performance issues, bugs, or grind. 😂
10 -
They don't fix the game anyway. No need to be a Negative Nancy

To be completely honest I feel like we're at a point with LGBT acceptance that we honestly don't have to make a huge deal about every bit of LGBT representation. At a certain point we're just regular people living regular lives that just so happen like the same sex. Drawing a ton of attention to "LOOK AT THIS LGBT MEMBER" reminds me a lot of having friends who refer to me as their 'lesbian friend' like it's the biggest novelty in the world. It felt weird at best and kind of hurtful at worst (With the best intentions, it just feel dehumanizing to be told from the first interaction with new people "I know you're gay!" I'd never say that aloud though.) I don't like being reduced to liking women as if no other quality about me matters.
It's really rough when LGBT characters are their... entire personality? Like "Hey look at this gay guy who's gay and he has a boyfriend/husband because he's gay. What does he do? Something gay!" Like just building some weird caricature of a person that can't exist in the real world.
What I'm saying is, LGBT representation is cool and all but I love some actual depth. I want some backstory, something that makes them have development and personality. Someone who is cool, strong, overcomes struggles and is relatable and hey if they're LGBT that's fantastic too. I hope DBD puts some effort into it if it's an LGBT character, otherwise it's just pandering. Which would feel pretty garbage to me. To be reduced to a marketing stunt.
23 -
I didn't say they shouldn't.
I said this changes NOTHING.
The game will go on EXACTLY the same as it did, with three more perks like it does every Chapter.
2 -
That'd actually be pretty cool tbh. I'm fine with anything, so if this is true then I'm down for it.
1 -
Apparently you don't understand the concept of representation. Obviously nobody will play just because of that. If, however you are new to a game, or been around a while, you'll probably be happy to able to see yourself in a character. Why do you think survivors main a certain character? Because something about that character speaks to them.
Not everything has a pc agenda behind it. Sometimes it's just a nice thing to do.
10 -
They do not care about you.
AT ALL.
All the proof you need of that is to look at all the companies that change their Facebook profile pictures on June 1st and then dump them July 1st.
Doesn't this fall under the Bury Your Gays trope, since the Killers are literally going to be murdering them ad infinitum?
16 -
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you twisted my words. I don't recall ever even using the word "representation" in fact I'm pretty sure I only used the term "virtual signaling." If you are going to criticize something I said that's fine, but don't twist what I said to make a point that I wasn't even talking about.
6 -
######### are you guys even arguing about I legit don't even know.
2 -
You make a great point- I'm a Cheryl main when I play survivor, and guess what drew me to DbD? The Silent Hill chapter. My love for the Silent Hill series was what got me to play, and I stayed because I enjoyed the game. Same thing can be said, I'm sure, for fans of Stranger Things. So to say that representation isn't important, than why bother with licensed chapters? It's just another form of player representation.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I agree completely!
5 -
It will still be a form of representation and as long as it is done right,it's good.
5 -
It's not really virtue signalling in this case though.
In the past the devs said they didn't want to talk about the sexual orientation of their characters and leave it up to the players to decide it themselfs.
They broke that promise however (e.g nurse or legion lore) acknowledged that and promised to add more characters with other orientations.
They are simply correcting a mistake of them. That's a good thing in my book
9 -
I don't really care what the survivor is as long as they aren't basic and are interesting. Although the only concern I have is if people start flooding the forums with complaints or accusations because they coincidentally got tunneled or camped by a killer while they were playing an LGBT character.
21 -
It doesn't change the gameplay, just the character flavour, for what people can relate to.
There's no need to be so melodramatic if it's true.
People often overreact when it comes to representation, it doesn't directly affect you so why does it matter?
Edit: I remember the time when the devs of Dragon Age Inquisition got death threat spammed just because the game had gay and bisexual companions.
7 -
a) what does it detract from gameplay?
b) how do decisions by the story team hinder the ability of the gameplay team?
c) why can't good story or flavor be valuable in its own right?
6 -
Or...it's just shameless pandering. There's no sexuality on any of the characters. Give them whatever orientation you want.
No. This is not going to bring in more players. That's an absurd statement. No person sits at home and thinks "I'd love to play this game, but I can't be a man in a woman's body, so I can't play it." That's just ridiculous. Your queue times aren't going to magically get cured by a company shamelessly using an identity to get more money for a DLC.
20 -
good now i can be gay in dbd AND real life at the same time
edit: yall quit whining about the gays and just play the damn game if you really don't care about it jesus christ
10 -
Sexuality was mentioned in the lore of different characters (e.g legion, nurse, david, felix etc)
10 -
Okay? Really, I'm just more interested in what perks this survivor has than what kind of person they get attracted to or what not. Also seems kinda a reach to assume LGBT just off colors.
5 -
Didn’t the dress photo have a slight subtle beard on the characters chin
0 -
I would love an LGBT character, however when watching a Paulie Esther video, he said that he was worried because if the survivor is LGBT then it might make some killers tunnel/camp. Kinda worries me if this would be the case.
But some LGBT representation in this game would be great.
2 -
I mean its a videogame, its up to your imagination what a character is or does. It shouldn't be forced.
To me, Nea always was a Lesbian.
4 -
How will the sexuality of a SURVIVOR in an asymetrical horror game, with no relationships in it whatsoever, help queue times caused by a lack of killers?
You think all these people that are like “wow I never played this cheesy looking chase game because horror asymetrical games isnt my thing and the game itself looks pretty crappy but now they slapped an lgbt label on one of the characters its totally up my street!!” You think these people are going to buy the game for a new survivor and then end up being killer mains?
if your theory held true it would only make killer times worse.
and call me a cynic but I think if they are hyping up a characters sexuality like this in a game where it literally doesnt matter then its just a cheap way to generate brownie points and good will at a time when pretty much everyone is ripping on the game for the absolute state it’s in now
5 -
or instead of being stereotypical we could think maybe the pink and blue represents the trans flag rather than girls and boys...
1 -
that's very closed mind of you. bet you're one of the people that complains about the team (of about 300 people) bringing out cosmetics (even though its not the bug fixers making the cosmetics). you're acting like people can either only care about being represented or the state of the game. Ultra BS.
2 -
What a weird thing to nit pick. You get the point.
2 -
yeah but they are murdering everyone else equally. I don't want to be excluded from being murdered just because of my sexuality!
0 -
sorry I just hate the whole idea of pink is girls blue is boys because it sets so many things in binary, more than just allowing people to express themselves it stretches a long way in being quite oppressive. I'd explain but I'm not in the mood to write a 2000 word essay on the off chance one or maybe two people might read it.
1 -
Why do people act like the game has a “STRAIGHTS ONLY” banner slapped across its store page?
Nobody and I repeat NOBODY has ever been excluded from this game.
8 -
I was replying to the person saying isn't this the 'bury your gays' trope. I'm saying I wouldn't want to be excluded from murder because of my sexuality, and that's its fine because if everyone is being murdered equally it doesn't go along those lines...
why the offensive?
