PS4 joining lobby error

Been playing this evening with a friend (both on PS4). At the end of each match one of us gets kicked out of the party lobby saying ‘an unknown error has occurred’ and neither of us can join/see invites sent after until one of us restarts the game.
Only been an issue since there was a PS4 update to fix custom lobby pips today.
We’ve played about 5 matches and happened after every game.
