Deep Wound & Blindness suggestion
hey all, today i'd like to share an idea ive had a short while ago regarding the Deep Wound and the Blindness status effect.
As we all know, being inflicted with Deep Wound makes the Survivor run on a timer. This is visually indicated to everyone with a bright orange bar underneath the survivors name, the bleedout bar, which slowly ticks down to their imminent doom, should they not be running or mending.
additionally, the affected Survivor gets visual effects on their screen to make sure they are aware of this effect being placed on them. those visual effects include blood dripping off the edges of your screen, aswell as a greatly darkened screen.
And this is exactly where my change idea comes into play:
i want to remove this darkened screen.
Why? because it is incredibly annoying for survivors, as it makes it incredibly hard to see anything, especially on medium to long distances. Combined with the already very dark nature of this game this means that, if you are in the wrong place on the wrong map when DW gets inflicted on you, you basically have a black screen to work with.
its very annoying having to deal with and it has nothing to do with the mechanic its bound to, which is ment to put you on a timer, not basically blind you.
and this is where the Blindness status effect comes into play.
we all know how bad that one is and i think we can all agree that it needs some kind of buff to it, yet no one really knows what it should do.
so why not take this dark screen effect away from Deep Wound and instead add it to Blindness? it would actually make sense to do it aswell, as Blindness is ment to, well, blind you.
this wouldnt fix Blindness ofc and it wouldnt be too much of a change for DW either, however i believe that it'd be a good change to make, making DW less painful to deal with while also making Blindness a bit better.
thanks for reading and sorry if it was a little badly written (its 12am here and im very tired, but wanted to quickly ask for opinions before i forgot again).
have a good day / night and i'll see you tomorrow (probaply) :D
