Chains of Hate is dumb
I know this chapter is old but why the hell is it named “Chains of Hate” and not “Chains of despair”? Or something better? “Hate” just sounds really lazy and doesn’t fit with DBD’s (supposedly) high vocabulary, it almost sound like a fan chapter’s name and not an official name.

dont see how chains of despair would fit with a story about a guy going so mad at people from getting his inventions stolen and then getting sold out after that

Chains of Execration sounds so pretentious lmao. If it was called that from the beginning we'd think BHVR were trying way too hard. And it doesn't sound catchy either. It's uneven and lame. Chains of Hate just rolls off the tongue, it's a good name for a chapter and fits Deathslinger's character.

I think 'Chains of Hate' works fine as a title. You could pick something more eloquent, but I don't think that fits the more tangible and physical nature of the story. Deathslinger isn't someone with 'enmity' or 'loathing', he just f'ing hates people.
Besides, sometimes being more eloquent can come off as more pretentious or try-hard. In the end it's about how evocative the language is, and Chains of Hate feels strong enough to be a term in DBD.

Idk, Yeah "Chains of Hate" gets the point across and is cool and all, but for some reason I'd argue that "Chains of Hatred" just sounds a bit... cooler. Like 33.33% cooler for some reason.... Anyone else getting that?

I was thinking about that, but 'chains of hatred' sound like an over-the-top anime attack while 'Chains of Hate' sounds like a storytelling theme.

It's lore-compatible. He's a vengeful cowboy; of course he has a lot of hate.
I do think that the name is a bit cliched, though. Hate is just a pretty banal word; even hatred would have been better.
That being said, other words like vitriol or detestation or animus just wouldn't work. Hate is the only option that wouldn't cause severe tonal dissonance.

I like the name 'Chains of Hate' makes sense with his lore. And also, i dont get why the name of dlc just over a year old matters compared to other things in this game.
