Filter out killers to play against

Hello! I’m sure the killer community will mostly disagree with me on this, but I think it would be nice to have an option for survivors to choose which killers they do not want to play against, even if it is limited to choosing just one. There have been days where I have played against pretty much only a ghost face or bubba, and it gets boring very fast. Not to mention, the notorious camping of the bubba. Yes, it will probably extend queue times, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Those that do not want to play against a particular killer can choose to wait longer for a different killer, but the extended wait encourages other survivors to just be open for any killer. I would wait 2 hours if it means not playing against a bubba again, just saying. Anyway, what do you guys think?

* they could even make it to just a preference to where they try to pair you with anyone but that killer, but you may still get them. Also, even if it was a straight veto, this feature could be turned off when not solo queuing.

When I was thinking of this, I thought of all the DC players and the people that kill themselves on first hook. Maybe this could help lower the percentage of people that do this during a match. Also, I feel like it would help queue times for those that choose to be open to any killer as you are essentially filtering out the ones that want a filter.

I would say we should just decrease the odds of facing the same killer twice in a row now killer lock is implemented or else deathslingers, spirits, and prob legion would never get lobbies.

Sure, as long as we can select to not play with or against SWF.

This way I can be a solo survivor with 3 other solo survivors and verse only solo survivors as a killer.

Say you're in a lobby. You've used your veto on Spirit, someone else has denied Freddy, Bubba has been excluded by the third and the fourth doesn't want to face a Hag.

Are you prepared to wait twice as long for a match due to the all the hoops the matchmaking system will have to go through to find you a viable killer?

maybe if there where more killer in the game this could work but right now it would just bring a current problem survivor have to killer, i like the idea of not facing the same killer twice.

I always face ghostface which is annoying.

That would be too op for having another killer in the trial. if you would do that you would get banned for that, to be honest with ya 😂.

I feel like some of you are assuming everyone will choose to filter out the same killer, which could (with a slim chance) happen. It would extend the queues for survivors only if they choose to filter. I do see where it could be concerning for a killer, though. However, since the survivor queue to filter would be long (maybe even reduce the percent of BP the survivor gets), this would motivate other survivors just to stay in the normal queue without a filter. I just think it would be a nice option to have for those that are tired of playing against a certain killer. It burns you out of the game. However, I like the comment about reducing odds of going against same type of killer.

I can definitely understand not wanting to play against SWF.

Are you talking about when with SWF? They could turn the filter off for SWF or make it only 1 veto.

Something to prevent going against a killer over and over sure I'm alright with it. Filtering out a certain killer nah I'm not about that. I enjoy playing against all killers. I'm not even sure how this would work because there's 4 survivors so does mean you get to filter out 4 killers every game or does just one get chosen to be filtered out. Which means the other survivors will be unhappy if the killer they don't want to go against is one that got through. With a game where you choose your character and build before the game even starts something like this just wouldn't work

It's not exactly the best of ideas for the sole fact that it will be abused by toxic players depending on how its set up if there even is a right way. The best suggestion I've seen is reducing the odds of facing the same killer more than once(not the player but the killer themselves).

It gets boring to face the same killer yes but a good majority would only want it so they don't have to face a killer they find difficult. My problem being that people should take the time to learn how to counter these killers rather then have the option just to avoid them all together taking out the challenge of gaming in general.

Maybe when there are more players and a larger killer roster should they introduce killer bans.

Ban rate also makes great statistics for the developers too.

I’m trying to understand what you mean about the lobby. Killers cannot change their chosen killer once they hit start to begin a queue. Therefore, before a survivor is placed in a lobby, their “veto” we will call it has to be taken into account. They would not be placed in a lobby with the killer they vetoed. Like I had edited in my post, if it is a SWF deal, the veto option would be removed completely. If a survivor has a long queue time, they are encouraged to open their queue to any killer. Also, I mentioned that they could make it less desirable to filter out a killer by making you lose a % of blood points at the end of a match for being queued that way. This way people have the option and can avoid a killer if they want to. They could even just make it a preference instead of a hard NO to a killer.

lol okay. That is definitely your opinion, but I think it would be more helpful to you do not believe it would work and why. Thank you, anyway.

I guess if you really enjoy waiting for lobbies.

For this to work they would need to overhaul the entire matchmaking system from the ground up. It's not just a matter of adding something in to the game that changes a certain aspect and they just aren't going to do that
