A possible way of making Stealth great again
I have originally posted this on the Steam forum but no one has replied
As we well know, lots of people have given up on the idea of playing stealthily. This has happened as a result of the many aura/detection perks and addons the killers have at their disposal. Although a couple of them like BBQ&Chilly and a Nurse's Calling are perfectly fine, given that they can be countered, most of them like: Bitter Murmur, Tinkerer, Whispers, Rancor, All Seeing, Vanity Mirror, etc., are not. Stealth should be an option for those who want to rely on it.
In order to possibly solve this issue and encourage more people to use Stealth I suggest the following:
First and foremost, add the perk below in the game:
(it can be an unteachable perk like Premonition or a teachable perk of the upcoming survivor)
Low profile
While you are crouched or crouch walking, you avoid ALL of the killer's aura and detection perks and addons.Whenever you stand back up you suffer from the Exposed Status Effect for 25/20/15 seconds.
Notes/Trivia:
-the perk works at an unlimited range
-the perk does not activate while cleansing a totem, repairing a generator, healing or being healed
-if you crouch, you are able to interrupt the aura reading from perks/addons, the notification from Rancor, Whispers, etc. (the aura/notification suddenly dissapears)
-the perk does not make you immune to the killer's abilities: Freddy can see you while asleep, you still scream due to madness, the Clown receives a notification if he intoxicates you
-the killer can still see your aura if you are using Object of Obsession
-it works on all perks (including Whispers, Rancor) except for: Tinkerer, Thrill of the Hunt, A nurse's calling
-it works on all addons, but for some of them the aura reading can only be interrupted by crouching (Amanda's Secret, Glowing Concoction)
Buff the following perks:
Technician
The noises caused by your repairs and their hearing distance as well as the noises made by the Generator itself while being worked on are reduced by 0/4/8 metres.
If you are interacting with that Generator alone, the killer won't receive any notifications regarding it and if damaged, the sparks remain visible for 15/30/45 seconds.
Notes/Trivia:
-when the killer uses Tinkerer he receives no notification, but the icon of the perk still lights up
-the aura from the All Seeing Spirit addon does not intensify
-when the Generator is completed, the killer won't know it unless he checks the number beside the generator or the Exit gates are powered
-the Generator won't become red if the killer runs Surveillance and the survivor touches it during those 16 seconds
-all the above only apply if you are working on the Generator alone
-the killer can hit the Generator again even if the sparks are visible; this option appears only if someone actually used Technician and touched it
-in case of a failed skillcheck, the explosion will no loger have a chance to be prevented
Lightweight
Footstep marks stay visible 3/4/5 seconds less than normal.Lightweight does not trigger in a chase and it is also on cooldown for 10 seconds after a chase ends (you escaped).
Now it's much easier to leave an area safely in a sprint, but as a compensation the perk won't help you during chases.
Sole survivor
Buff the range to 20/22/24 metres for each dead or sacrificed survivor so that if you use Object of Obsession your aura remains hidden even at the maximum distance.
(As it is now, Sole survivor only covers 60 metres out of 72 for 3 dead/sacrificed survivors)
Also, if the other 3 survivors died you should be able see the hatch within 14/16/18 metres.
(I suggested this buff to Sole survivor mainly because without it, if the perk I mentioned above, Low profile, which provides a better protection, gets added into the game, chances are that most people would choose it over Sole survivor, although the latter works with OoO, does not expose you and doesn't require you to be crouched)
A perk like Low profile should have been added ages ago.
What do you guys think ?

So with that low profile crap make yourself invisible to the killer even though they have met the requirements to get your aura? I don't think so. Sole survivor is fine and I remember not seeing someone with BAC because of it. Technician could use a buff, maybe 100% chance to silence explosions. Aura perks are counterable and quite situational.1

Sole survivor is fine and I remember not seeing someone with BAC because of it. Aura perks are counterable and quite situational. You don't become "invisible"; the killer can still see you directly. The perk only cancels his detection perks and addons.Given that all those perks/addons basically do the same thing, which is revealing your location and since most killers use only one of those per match, it is a fair trade.
All you have to do is look around. It's not like killers need detection perks to find someone now is it?
Adding such a perk is the simplest way to promote Stealth.BBQ&Chilly and a Nurse's Calling are fine. They can be countered. But how about the others ?
Bitter Murmur- you are doing your job (fixing a Generator) and the killer gets to see your aura.
What kind of requirement is this ?! Am I supposed not to touch Generators or what ?
This perk is enough to let the killer know which way you are heading.Trying to fake directions is irrelevant. It's as if you were standing still. You get nowhere and most killers expect you to do this and will go in the opposite direction you were running.Anyhow, it reveals your general location which is bad enough.
Not to mention that when the last Generator is completed the killer can see you for 10 seconds not 5.Rancor- same as above. This despicable perk triggers whenever a generator is completed. And it's even worse as it affects everyone. What if the killer is in the area and someone pops a Generator? My location gets revealed and I can't do anything.Maybe the killer wouldn't have checked behind that rock but now he knows for sure I am there...and he is just a few meters away from it.
Tinkerer- a stronger version of Bitter Murmur. This one tells the killer where I am before finishing the Generator, giving him time to come and catch me off guard eventually (The change I suggested for Technician could counter this)
Whispers- the requirement for this perk to trigger is simply to patrol.Really? The killer just walks around and knows when I am close.Just pay attention to the icon:as soon as it lights up you know the survivor is approximately 32 metres in front of you at the time being.Big deal.
Scratched Mirror- way more powerful than Whispers as this addon reveals auras. You just have to be within 32 metres. This requirement is extremly negligiable. It can be countered by Sole Survivor but only when 2 survivors are dead.At this time it is already too late.
The All-Seeing/Amanda's Letter - a weaker version of Scratched Mirror but still quite effective. The only counter is to wait for someone to die while you are using Sole Survivor.Again, too late.I might be found first. How am I supposed to cyrcle around a prop if the killer can see me through it ?
Class Photo- this one...THIS ONE IS THE MOST BROKEN OF THEM ALL !Whenever the killer is pulling someone into the dream everyone is revealed for I don't know how many seconds. What am I supposed to do?The requirement for this one to trigger is almost nonexistent
Black Box- another broken addon with no counter but my perk does not affect it as it's related to the killer's ability so let it be...
All those perks/addons don't have a counter/proper counter.
And by the way.Sole survivor does not do anything to help you against BBQ&Chilly.Whether two survivors have been killed or not is irrelevant. The perk does not reveal your aura within 40 metres anyway. When the third survivor dies the perk still triggers before you receive those extra 20 metres from Sole survivor.
Then again...are all those notifications really that crucial for the killer?Their only purpose is to spoil the Stealth aspect of the game and the fun of those who enjoy this kind of playstyle whereas most killers can find survivors without them(although it's a bit more difficult).
Low profile is actually quite balanced you know.Getting exposed whenever you stand back up from crouching for 15 seconds is a considerable drawback as it occurs many times during a trial. All this just to counter some perks that are not even a must...

15 seconds really isn't that much. Someone about to get hooked with BBQ? Just crouch. Counter Nurse's? Just crouch. 15 is really not that dangerous at all for what it does

You either take a risk by standing up/trying to run away and if he catches you during those 15 seconds he puts you right in the dying state or you stay there, crouched, and allow him to get a free hit but at least you get that speed bonus.
I suppose the duration could be increased to 20 seconds though.^^But not more than that.Survivors crouch quite a lot during a trial.
As I said, this perk does not work with A nurse's calling, Thrill of the Hunt and Tinkerer.
Basically you are not allowed to interact with anything if you want it to trigger.Cleansing/Repairing/Being healed is not really considered crouching. This is another weakness the perk has.0 -
I agree: if killers can block survivors' abilities to read the Auras, and they can, it's fair to allow survivors' to block killer's abilities, both under reasonable circumstances. It's a matter of checks and balances for me: every role should be enjoyable, no one should be without any defense.

These perks could come with the new survivor batman1
