Small Game Buff
most people never actually use small game, and nor do I because it's a horrible perk. But I think that if you made it so that when the perk went off it actually shows the aura of the thing that triggered the perk, it could make the perk a little better.

Totems are already awfully hidden as is with the occasional 1 wonderful totem placement every 20 games or so. I'd rather they didn't get seen through walls. :P

It isn’t a ‘horrible’ perk at all. There’s plenty of perks that are good that people don’t use as they won’t stray from the meta. It doesn’t mean they’re bad perks. I encounter Ruin / Undying / Devour Hope a lot in my games, so I actually use Small Game + Inner Strength frequently.

I think it would be too strong if it did that. It would have to have like a 60 second timer or tokens (3 max?). It would be a superpowered Detectives Hunch but at least Detectives hunch has a requirement (gen pop) even though you don’t have to do the requirement.
I would love to see all the crap perks get buffed so we saw more variety

I always use small game, it's not a bad perk at all. Besides preventing NOED and take ruin out early, gives a ton of bps

detective hunch is better in every way

i use it and i spend an entire minute looking for the totem that triggered my small game notification. id say you are better off with detectives hunch. the perk is also very map dependent, like on gideon meat plant it genuinely triggers 24/7 even if there are no totems near you
a nice small game buff would be to make it so you can see the aura of the thing that triggered it for 2 seconds or if thats a bit too much, make it so it gets added to a map in case you have one

I'd be fine with adding it to the map.
Small Game works just fine for me. So long as you know some basic totem spawns, it's pretty easy to find them.

I think it would cripple trapper and maybe even hag if it did this, it also would make totems obsolete. I think it's fine as it is now and can be useful enough.

Added what it finds to a map that can track that sort of object would be fine, seeing the aura is a bit too much and too much like Detective's Hunch.
Personally if I was to buff Small Game I'd lower the cool down by two seconds, making it 13/10/8. When it goes off unless the totem or whatever is right out in the open from the angle I'm looking I won't find it and have to try and triangulate things and ten seconds is so long to wait to get another data point on where whatever I'm "pinging" is located.

I use both.

Even with Small Game, I've had to search for ages for some totems.
There's a spawn on Dead Dawg Saloon where it's tucked in behind a barrel and it's virtually impossible to find if you don't know exactly where it is. Small Game was useless for it, all I knew is that it was somewhere around that building, still took me a few minutes to find it.
There's also the side rooms in the main building on the same map. Small Game doesn't discern between floors, and you never know how to get into those rooms. Some are through a window from outside, some inside, and one time I was looking for a totem in there, also with Small Game, and I worked out that it must have been inside a room that was COMPLETELY blocked off. Window was blocked up and the only entrance was a door with a breakable wall that the killer had not yet broken down. That was a completely broken spawn for many reasons, and I never found out if it was a Hex which would have been even worse, but at least if I could have seen the aura instead of "roughly in the area" it would have saved me about two minutes searching, losing time to the killer and potentially costing the game.
If it was buffed to display aura's however, it would need to be nerfed in some other way. Maybe it can only trigger once every 60 seconds instead of every 15 seconds, and only displays the aura for 2/3/4 seconds. There's still a chance to miss it then, or not completely pinpoint it's location, but at least it's better than "somewhere in [this] direction"

100% agree with this buff. It, along with a counter of how many totems are destroyed or remaining, would make the perk worth running. As it is right now, you have random pings going off turning your camera, and depending on the killer no idea where or what it is. A brief aura read would go a long way for this mostly unused perk.

I just don't understand why it has a cooldown. I think it should be more like Spine Chill and less like Premonition. It should be lit up when looking at something and dark when not. The version we have now is stupid because of the unnecessary cooldown.
