The new DS should have its timer increased

Right now DS is mostly useful as a safety tool to make you basically invincible for 60 seconds up to 2 times per match, so it makes sense that everyone wants it to be changed to an anti-tunnel perk.
The problem is that DS is already weak as an anti-tunnel perk. It does not stop the killer from tunneling you and even if you do get tunneled, the killer is most likely going to leave you on the ground. If you are actually trying to escape and manage to survive for more than 60 seconds, DS does nothing for you. You basically have to go down on purpose and it also creates those shenanigans with lockers (which everyone hates), because it's a safe way to ensure that the killer doesn't slug you.
I don't see a problem with increasing the timer to like 70/80/90 seconds (or pause it in chases / on the ground) if you can't make any progress in the game. It would be nice if it was an actual good anti-tunnel perk given that it's the only purpose of this perk after the next patch.

If you run the killer for 60 seconds after unhook you’ve done good for the team. Thats 75% of 3 generators if they’ve been efficient.
Its a 1 vs 4 not a 1 vs 1, sometimes it sucks for the 1 being tunnelled or not escaping but you’ve done more than enough for the team.

They are all their own things a perk shouldn't encompass more than 1 on its own, this puts ds into both anti tunnel and anti slug which is far too much for one perk.

Wouldn't it put it more in line as an anti-tunnel perk? If it makes you lose to tunnel no matter how long you commit then doesn't it incentivise chasing someone else?

It shouldn't. Camping, tunneling and any other tactic the Killer uses is allowed. A perk shouldn't intefere with the core of the game(we have a lot that does), which is sacrificing Survivors asap.
Devs probably seen in the initial release of the game that Killer kept chasing the same survivors and had the idea to create the famous "anti tunnel perk" to allow Survivors to have more chances in the trial. Then after the game grew, the community started it calling officialy as a anti tunnel and now we have people who say tunneling and camping should be banned.
DS was created when there wasn't any other second chance perks, and now we have too much of them. it's a 4v1 game, 16 perks vs 4, a Suvivor alone shouldn't be more strong than a Killer.
It's hard to balance since both sides are totally different, it's not a 5v5 game like LoL.

I'd be fine with the new Decisive Strike lasting forever.
If a Survivor wants to refuse to do an objective for THAT long he's not screwing the Killer he's screwing his team.

If they reduced the time, to say 20/25/30 seconds, then had it pause when downed, that would be a decent change and make it effective at anti-slugging too. It would also synergise less with Unbreakable. People run both of these to cover both bases, but now DS would essentially cover what Unbreakable does to an extent as well, reducing the effectiveness of it. You could still run both to get 2 second chances, but you could more afford to not run Unbreakable at all.

Point of the new DS is to stop it from being an abuse. Many people sadly abused it and there are really bad logical errors in current DS. I dont know how to new one will be doing but the old DS is not something that I support. However if you increase the new timer of the updated DS it will be just like the old one. The point of the DS is to punish the killer for chasing newly unhooked survs. However there are many situations where sometimes there will be only 1 person left and he just newly unhooked and has DS. Overall I really support the new DS and if its timer will increase it will be pointless.

The 60 second timer is fine. There's a lot that can be done in 60 seconds so if you get chased by the killer for the full duration, you've already helped your team a lot. If you really want to use the DS, just jump into a locker and force the killer to have to grab you out of it or have to leave you.
As for being slugged, it gives you an opportunity to get back into the game without taking a hook state. Either you use unbreakable to pick yourself up or a teammate picks you up.
Also stop suggesting the timer pauses while you are slugged. It's only going to result in people dying on the ground as the killer can't pick you up anymore and people are going to complain more about spending 4 minutes on the ground.
