A tiny change to DS to benefit those that DON'T run DS.
Change DS so that it no longer creates an obsession. At the moment if no one runs DS (or a perk that will create an obsession) the entire team is penalized for that.
Yes, this could be considered a buff to DS but it's annoying to be punished for not using a meta perk. No obsession actually encourages tunneling... which shouldn't be a thing!

How does not having an obsession encourage tunnelling? I've seen that sentiment before and I'm not sure how it works.

Basically it means that the killer knows no one has DS because DS makes someone an obsession so they can tunnel off hook and not be punished.

Honestly, there should be an obsession in every match instead of having to run certain perks to trigger one.

If there is no obsession, then the killer knows with 100% certainty that none of the survivors have DS (since DS brings the obsession mechanic into play) which means he can tunnel someone if he so wishes or finds convenient, without any worry of getting hit by a 5 second stun.

I'd just change it so there is always an obsession, and do something a bit more with the mechanic that doesn't require perks to do things. Still have perks of course that do things with obsession. But make there be some kind of baseline interaction between the obsession and the killer.
