DS but let us TAP a generator

And you still can, just now you have to think first and decide if it's worth losing the protection of DS, of if you are far enough away that the killer won't catch you before it's timer runs out anyway. Or just hit DS first, then tap the gen.

.1 seconds to stop a gen from regressing is not 15 seconds on a gen ( if you can do it suring a chase, you can do it while getting tunneled. Tapping gens is possible in chases.(
0 -
Where did I say it wasn't?
1 -
Youre already countering yourself. Gen tapping is using ds effectively. Its effectove strategy during a chase, and it is POSSIBLE during chase, therefore you are still getting tunneled.
0 -
You didnt, but what im saying is stopping a gen from regressing is not enough to disable something you can only use once.
0 -
Clearly the devs disagreed. Now you have to think when you use it. Thems the breaks. All the going back and forth over whether or not it's "progress" or "proof you aren't being tunneled" is meaningless.
The devs made a clear distinction, you can drop pallets, vault and hide in lockers and keep ds. You cannot tap/repair gens, heal/pickup/rescue Survivors. You probably aren't being tunneled if you have time to stand still and let your teammates heal you, but he devs decided it won't break ds, maybe to stop troll teammates from breaking ds by "tapping" you, maybe because they want to keep from discouraging teammates from healing each other, maybe just to make it so you always had the choice of when to early deactivate your protection.
Tunneling isn't meant to be removed from the game, the devs have said multiple times they consider it valid gameplay, which means you'll have perks to mitigate and help counter that gameplay, if you look at those perks, none of them are a 100% counter, expecting ds to be is just entitlement. Gameplay counters Gameplay. Perks just help.

No.
2 -
When did i say it should 100 percent counter everything? Your not god because if a shard of glass and a makeshift flashlight. New ds makes you a braindead useless survivor for 60 seconds if you want to use it
0 -
If you use it in a braindead way, sure. If you are completely useless for 60 seconds, you definitely aren't being tunneled, because being chased by the killer is the best use for that time, as it keeps your team free to fix gens. (Even tap them)
3 -
No isnt counterargument. Try again.
0 -
And the killer can just slug you to avoid it. Ds is mostly useless in most situations .
0 -
Yes, there is a counter to the counter, like with every other perk. So I guess by your logic they're all mostly useless. Why run any perks at all if they can just be countered?
3 -
So the thing that literally deactivates it, making it THE LEAST effective way to use it (basically willingly forfeiting your perk) is what you'd consider effective use?
You're certainly in the right thread @_@
Gen tapping uses M1 to 'repair' a gen - the game doesn't care if it's 80 charges or 0.1 charges after the M1 press - A repair action has occurred, you've stopped the killer's gen regression, and you've progressed the game at the cost of your perk.
Sucks that using the repair action literally counts as using the repair action - I'm sure the devs will realize that this mistake somehow slipped through.
4 -
No need to try. Answer is no.

I would not expect anything from the big six (maybe more or less) from the cult of sluzzy. I probably can't name them here thanks to forum rules but thanks to this thread I remembered another one. They take bias arguments to a whole new level.

I think all those people complaining about not being able to gen tap with DS anymore forget something:
There is no "tapping" action in the game. You repair ( !!! ) a generator for a very short duration, or initiate a repair. DS now disables when initiating a repair.
Theres nothing to discuss. You cant "tap" a generator without repairing and thus disabling DS because its the same action you deny doing.
2 -
I would say it MAKES nothing. It REQUIRES suddenly situational awareness to stealth away from the hook to find someone to get healed. (The same like the ruin rework, old gave a passive effect and the new requires the killer to apply pressure otherwise it does nothing while on a gen). In case you are found by a tunneling killer in those 60 seconds it gives you the chance to reset a chase.
The usage of the perk lies completely in the hands of the survivor. Take aggro and hop into a locker to get to hit or use stealth while being protected.
1 -
That's because it doesn't. It's useless now and that's why nobody uses it.

Lots of killer mains today.
Jeez, i get the nerf, but gen tapping is stopping REGRESSION( RE,GET IT IN YOUR HEAD, NOT POROGRESSION), not PROGRESSING. Stop repeating the same thing and dont put words in my mouth
0 -
One might say DS is useless in every situation unless you're being tunneled. What if that's the intention? Like an anti-tunneling perk or something?
3 -
The only words used were those that you typed yourself.
Your inability to understand that stopping a generator from regressing indefinitely to zero (in one frame, no less) IS actively contributing towards the objective (permanently removing the -0.25/s debuff) is also an isolated one.
I'd comment on the M1 to Repair portion of my previous answer again, but I'm certain you know what M1 does on a generator.
Most of all, though, I'd REALLY like you to educate me - Let me know how gen tapping is using the perk effectively (literally what you said -the quote is there) when the perk deactivates in that scenario.

Bruh it's the same thing.
Stopping regression is progression for the survivor team.
4 -
That's swf most of the time. Solo q is never that. The survivors I get crotch around on the corners of the map

I think the problem is more entitled people sadly

Exactly, and that's how it should be. You shouldn't be able to just hold spacebar at a gen whenever you want and get free game slowdown for it without using a perk or somethign.
0 -
how tf do you find t bagging toxic just zone them out
0 -
No. Just no. You got enough to work with. Gen slowing perks such as is. Just cause you want to stop it and still get away Scott free with a DS is not how this work.
3 -
Maybe the one unhooking can tap the gen for you.
3 -
NO!

I personally think it depends on the situation and others pov. I dont play much killer anymore but when I did I got the occasional swf who would act entitled. That's when it was more annoying than toxic. My entire point since the beginning was just solo q needs a little help rn. Idk why people think its stupid i think this

give me one good reason why you shouldnt be abe to tap a generator? since you would do it without DS anyways DS shouldnt really change your play style it should be tehre so you dont get tunneled and im fine with it making you not able to work on gens but tapping a gen isnt working + it can favour the killer if he has pop too so it can be a win / lose its more balanced and you could actually do something good while getting tunneled i mean honsetly they should just make DS active both times but with much less time and give u a broken status effect and a mending timer like mettle of man instead
0 -
Because if you have time to tap a gen, you're obviously not in any real danger of getting caught, right? Why else would you sacrifice your lead in the chase to stop a gen regressing?
Why can't the survivor who unhooked you, and thus doesn't have DS anyway, tap the gen for you?
Tapping a gen shouldn't be a thing anyway. It takes the killer almost 3 seconds to start it regressing, and a survivor half a second to stop it. Which completely invalidates any kicking action. It should take 3 seconds of repair progress to halt regression.
3 -
This! It should take at least 1.5 seconds of interaction with a generator before gen regression will not resume.
1 -
who the hell even taps a gen while being chased???
0 -
If u have time to tap gen you're safe and not getting tunelled meaning u don't need ds anymore
0 -
It isn't needed. You just want a win handed out to you
1 -
Personally, I think DS is fine as is. Gen tapping is a whole other issue. I think that its unrealistic that we can just go tap a gen to instantly fix the damage that caused it to regress to begin with. I'm all for a change to the gen mechanic that would require us to repair the gen for 5-10 seconds in order to prevent further regression.
