DS Nerf - Was it needed?

When? always. How? camping. Why? Because you're in red rank only because of camping/tunneling.

I don't believe anyone gets to red ranks through camping and tunnelling alone.
I've managed to get to red ranks far too easily, playing mainly as Spirit, Freddy, Hag and Doctor. No camping or tunnelling was necessary. I even tried to make use of Devour Hope for most of it.
When did I actually feel the need to camp and tunnel? When I played a weaker killer (Bubba, Trickster, etc.) when I had already reached red ranks and was thus put against sweaty SWFs. And even then, that was to secure ONE kill, and I STILL depipped from it.
You don't need to make excuses for why people who reach red ranks are crap. It's just far too easy to get there to begin with.

I said the rushed saves make Survivors believe it's tunneling. Which the actuality it is not tunneling. If BT was delayed the lotted rush time to rescue to activate. There be no reason to rush a rescue. Allowing the killer to go about searching. (Survivors not hooked to do other objectives) Instead of being blamed for camping hook and tunneling. Also BT ought to "protect" both survivors but still, rushed saves is abused and if BT didnt activate instantly after a rushed save. Killers wouldn't be blamed for coming back to chase again so fast afterwards. if they go for a insta-save have it not activate for a penalty. Also it wouldn't hurt the survivor if the one unhooked afterwards got stroked after unhook the killer themselves got stunned instead. Like being blinded.

Going after the survivor who unhooked them isn't tunnelling, even if it's straight after hooking the other one.
If BT protected both of them, it would be abused ALL the time. The survivor who was unhooking would have nothing to fear, and so rushed, unsafe rescues would become the norm.

Totally agree. Killer is easy as hell now. Against solos my cat can 4k with half of the killers, and without headphones. But killers have 4k so many times they think they deserve it every game, and that's not true

Ruin got nerfed. NOED is probably never gonna leave the game. Dont know about tinkerer. plus I'm a killer main and it's not an easy mode compared to all your 2nd chance perks u survivors have.
2 -
thats why they should make 2 mode games :)
1 -
Only killer mains would think Ruin was nerfed. It was actually buffed. Survivors don't have any 2nd chance perks at all, but killers do. Blood Warden is a second chance, Tinkerer, Undying, NOED is a real big one.

Ruin was not buffed. If you stay on a gen then ruin does nothing in its current form. Survivors have BT, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, Soul Guard, WGLF, THEY STILL HAVE DS, so how are these not 2nd chances? Blood Warden is easily preventable from just 99'ing exit gates. Once you know they have tinkerer you can expect it whenever gens are close to being done. Undying makes you cleanse 2 totem max now. NOED can never activate if you are actively doing totems in the match and during the match the killer only has 3 perks. If you can't win against a killer with 3 perks then i know where the problem is.

The old Ruin version could at least be countered by hitting great skillchecks. The new one requires you to find the totem because a decent killer can apply too much pressure and you lose way too much objective progress if you don't. I forgot to mention PGTW, a perk that removes progress for simply doing the easy objective. It really is an example perk that wins the killer the game because some totems take too long to find. Then add in Undying and now Ruin is suddenly twice as hard to remove. It's a second chance for a second chance.

woah, did you step out of the comfort of your posts?
2 -
The new ruin doesn't require you to find a totem for you to do gens. If the killer is putting pressure on you then that's just the killer getting use out of their perk. PGTW is only usable if the killer is simply doing their objective which every killer should be doing so you can't say that's overpowered. Totems take 14 seconds and if the killer has ruin and undying you only have to cleanse 2 and that's 28s, not a lot of time. A team of survivors can have 16 2nd chance perks and you want to say that 2 are bad....ok

When?
Not always.
Camping/tunnelling are inefficient strats that should only be used for a really short period of time, in order for them to get mad etc.
How?
For example, if you camp but no other survivor is watching you, it's a complete waste of time. However, if you fake camping for a few seconds and other survivors are watching you that might change the way they act.
Same goes with tunnelling.
Why?
To make them tilt/nervous and use those behaviours in your favour.
Because you're in red rank only because of camping/tunneling.
Actually, if you just camp/tunnel you are not gonna get past yellow ranks.
Good luck getting to red ranks by just camping/tunnelling 24/7 and use those strategies mindlessly.

I want to make this perfectly clear. If a killer is SOMEHOW getting to red ranks by camping and tunneling (more specifically, camping), it's because the survivors are GIVING the killer those pips. In order for a killer to rank up by camping, the survivors have to be complete bots. Period, end of story.
More-so, it's fine for killers to use tactics survivors don't like to win the game. BHVR makes the rules. Not survivors. Survivors don't get to call the killer bad for camping and tunneling, and also run anything in their meta. Which is nearly all second chances.
The killers job is to kill survivors. Even the original DBD tutorial videos showed camping as the intended way to play. They literally showed Trapper hooking Meg, and waiting.
Even MORE than that...IT. IS. NOT. THE. KILLERS. JOB. FOR. SURVIVORS. TO. HAVE. FUN. Do you think it's fun for killers to go against all the second chances in the survivor meta? Against toolboxes with BNPs? Against instaheals and keys? Do you think it's fun for killers to run around at loops just to have you dead hard for distance and make a pallet you SHOULDN'T have been able to make? Do you think we feel outplayed? Do you think that was fun? No, it wasn't. More concern for our fun, and maybe I'll allow you to have fun.

Tinkerer is more of a tracking perk then anything. I dont use blood warden, NOED, or undying I dont use ruin either

Just saying I measure my wins if I get 2k I win but below that is a loss regardless if I get a kill. If I manage to get a 4k I consider that a bonus. just saying is all

ok off topic but Claudette's face fits so well in the picture

Yes

When you have time to do gens, healing, cleanse then you are get not tunneled
3 -
Yes very much so
2 -
1- yes and it's sad
2- yes that doesn't mean they used this time to do gens tho ^^ but even if you gave your team time, it still don't save you, as a player from getting back on hook, which is the main purpose of the perk.

It's a good start.

As I revisit this thread, I feel like I am against the entire world on DS nerf lol.
I have learnt to play with this, because... what other choice did I have? Whenever you solo Q, you are matched sometimes with braindead survivors or griefers and campers or tunnelers. And if by any chance both of them are in the same game as you, then good luck escaping.
My 2 cents on this as a killer - even if I do tunnel an unhooked survivor (for the sake of my choice or strategy) I would prefer slugging him at one side of the map and then chasing/hooking another. If I do it right, then that is where I have now successfully created pressure on the other 2 survs (assuming UB is not in play). Their 60 second immortality does not stop me from playing the game better as a killer.
As a survivor I use as less pallets as I can and try to make an effective loop between a jungle gym and killer shack (if the setup is available or I figure out something else). If I do it right, the killer will be in a long chase with me.
My point being - we can all (myself including) git gud if we stop moaning and complaining. I am getting there, step by step, bit by bit.
Are you? 🙂
