Nerf to Gen Tapping and Buff to Gen Recession
Kicking Gens seems like a useless mechanic; without the help with certain perks and addons: especially when Survivors can spend less then a second to stop the regression from happening! But even if they don't, it takes a 1/4 of a charge (80 charges total) per second; which it is laughable!
I say... The Gen Kicks for base killer (Amy killer that kicks it normal; without perks) should be able to take away 5% progress, kind like a micro Pop Goes the Weasel; with a Gen Regression going up to 1/2 of a charge per second, that way you wouldn't relie on Pop/Ruin!
Ruin could be buff, to do 3/4 a charge or 1 charge; to make it such a strong Hex perk; because I believe that Hex Perks need to be very powerful until found and destroyed!
As for Survivor's Gen tapping; they need to do a 3 second animation of fixing the damage Generators progress in order to go back to be able to fix it and go back to repair; failing it by Gen tapping or fixing a second too early would result in a explosion notification and result in some progress being loss (1% or 2%)!
This creates opportunities for the killer to have some built in regression and compete in counter Genrushing; all while avoiding the laziness of gen tapping while in the middle of a chase or Saving a Survivor next to a Generator!

I;d say either/or, maybe not both. Honestly, if you had the mini pop effect, you would WANT them to gen tap, because you could kick it again for another 5% regression anyway.

I think the 5% auto regression might be a bit too much. You don't want to be kicking gens if you can help it, it wastes time, and 5% would be good enough that everyone would want to kick a gen every time.
With survivors needing to commit to a gen for 3 seconds to halt regression, which is already a huge improvement, you wouldn't need that 5%, maybe 1% default regression would be enough.

Let's just give a skillcheck the moment they touch the generator like Overcharge does. This can be a normal easy skillcheck but if they let go it blows up like a normal skillcheck too. They can still tap but it does 10% of damage which is 40 seconds of regression instantly, pretty good.
I like the 5% idea, but it may not be enough since that's just 4 seconds worth of regression while you still spend 2 seconds kicking it. I think a bigger buff than that should happen.

I agree that kicking gens without perks is pretty useless, but they shouldn't overbuff it and make bad 3 gen situations for survivors already bad.
I think if they increase the base regression to 50% (its 25% now) and survivors cant just tap it to stop it from regressing its fine

Devs are too lazy to do this because they would have to alter all the generator related perks. So literally no ideas about gen tapping are gonna be able to be addressed until the devs themselves make plans to do a mini overhaul of perks.

Not a bad idea; either one would work just fine! More towards Givin killer 5% regression per kick, because he is dealing with 4 Survivors and is in need of some regression to compensate!
Plus, if Survivor keep on gen tapping; with the killer close; they will be punished by letting the killer keeps on regress on all the progress!

True; but Survivors these day need to be aware of all the Generator positions are and make good decisions in finding them and working on specific gens to avoid a 3 Gen scenario! 3 Gen scenario are a Survivor issue more then a killer strategy; because in those scenarios; the bad Survivors play too safe and work on all the far gens safely and let the three closest gens be left for last!
Remember a Killer's time is more precious then the Survivors, as a second he spend chasing a Survivor, the other 3 are popping gens
