keys shouldn't open hatches INSTANTLY
Just had a game where I closed the hatch when I found it.
not even 2 seconds later a survivor came over, opened the hatch with a key and jumped in right in my face.
######### am I suppose to do against that? there is zero counterplay.
Now if there was a 20 second animation to open like a chest that ######### ######### wouldn't have happened.
There is zero counterplay to keys like this how am I suppose to defend a hatch? It's a free win to the survivor.

my only issue with them is that killers literally can't counterplay them, survivors dont make any progress action and what's worse they can't get grabbed anymore it's ridiculous

Opening animation would do very little as you can't sit on the hatch forever defending it from opening. You wouldn't get key escapes mid chase but survivor can just stealth when the hatch appears to it wouldn't do all that much overall.
I'm far more concerned how keys evade gen completion, that's much bigger problem imo.

a five second channel to open the hatch with a key would solve a lot of hatch related issues

Killer should take 10 seconds to close the hatch as well so the survivors have more time to open the exit gate.
edit: or is doing things instantly only something the killer can enjoy?

I have yet to experience 4 survivors have keys at the same time and I can't even imagine how infuriating that could be for killers.

I had 2 survivors with red key and 2 survivors with red map that can look for hatch
man that ######### annoyed me
and they had the ######### add on so they don't lose their key on death so even killing them doesn't take away their key

If a killer closes the hatch a survivor with a key shouldn't be able to open it after, cause yeah I agree it's very stupid you waste time doing that when the survivor runs into your face getting ready to drop into the abyss through the hatch.

Killers are not locking the hatch, he is just stomping his feet to close it. A key shouldn't be needed to open it.
The endgame collapse is way too killer sided.

The hatch should close after opening it and it can't be opened at ALL unless there is 1 survivor left the hatch can be opened

A 5/10/whatever second animation of a survivor turning the key on an actual lock to open it. Then, you have to push ANOTHER button to actually go into it (you don't go instantly into it). Also, you should be able to get grabbed from it (I've heard that used to be a thing?).

You're either super lucky or not red rank. Good teams will capitalize on you tunneling the key person. And killers being forced to slug as 'counterplay' kind of shows how strong the item is.

It's not nearly killer sided enough. If hatch gets opened with a key, you have to close it or risk other survivors getting through it. But if you close it, all the gens are automatically done and the gates are powered. It's 2 objective shortcuts in one fell swoop.

Well, good news! Keys and Moris will get changed again in the future, so we can look forward to that.
It is "no-one sided", in my opinion. Just an overall bad mechanic which should be removed.
I agree. But take my opinion with a grain of salt, because I agree pretty much with anything that would make matches go slower. I really hate fast-paced trials.

gotta love the whiny killer mains they want everything easy and handed to them instead of actually getting good at game...I like how killer mains say theres no counter play to keys yet they hav a perk specifically to get rid of items

Franklins dosen't help much because survivors can drop keys and retrieve them once the hatch spawns.

Make them useful again, most likely. There is currently no reason to use a mori, unless you just like the animation. As for keys, we all know they need changes as soon as possible.

Yes keys do need a change but I really felt like the mori nerf was fine.

It wasn't. It no longer gives you a tactical advantage as it used to, since you cannot kill someone early on. It is literally just an animation, while keys can make the game end faster than it should.

Killers already take 3 seconds to break generators while survivors take a fraction of 1 second to cancel the broken generator
