Keys reward bad playstyles
Just played a match against this person who just hides in lockers all match long with a wall hack key, I've faced them twice and that's how they played both matches with me. It's really stupid that someone can hide all match and not help the team whatsoever and still get a free escape.
After I closed hatch I found them and raced em to the hatch which wasn't far, and stood on it, they just started opening an exit gate, so I stop them and they just run straight back to hatch but this time they made it in.... How in Neas' name am I supposed to kill someone like that? How do I stop them? I was even doctor and had them in M3 hoping they couldn't use their key but nope.. there's absolutely no counterplay in this situation unless I just run Franklins all the time which I really don't want to do, I'm very thankful for the upcoming key nerf but I think a couple of good ideas for further nerfs would be
1. Survivors in madness T3 cannot use keys
2. When the killer hits a key holder they drop it, because the truth is just having a key in your hand makes you "bolder" which leads to stupid plays you shouldn't get away with.
Just some suggestions, but dang something has to change because I shouldn't be afraid of a survivor and race them to the hatch, if I have to race them being able to make them drop it upon getting hit by a basic attack would be good enough for me because I was completely powerless in that situation, they can still pick it up and it's not like it would disappear unless a teammate snagged it.

Survivors in tier 3 can't use items, which includes keys.

NOED, my boy.

NOED rewards bad playstyles.
Rancor rewards bad playstyles.
Undying rewards bad playstyles.

Getting downed before being able to move away isn't a bad playstyle.
Getting exhausted on the ground isn't a reward.
The killer refusing to pick someone up isn't a bad playstyle on the survivor's part.
Healing your teammates isn't a bad playstyle.
Staying alive to endgame isn't a bad playstyle.
Running away from the killer isn't a bad playstyle.
Please, continue. This is funny.

Might as well just leave it at all perks reward bad playstyles.

Then how was she able to use her key? I hit her with static blast twice and 4 shock therapy attacks to put her in M3.. maybe I missed one idk but that hatch race just seems very unhealthy for the game.

I don't want to use NOED

NOED, rancor, and undying have counterplay, I was absolutely powerless against this key user during end game and I shouldn't be forced to use a perk slot to counter their item.

That's not guaranteed but it's nice when it happens. Only if they're a ######### teammate.

So... You're saying that players shouldn't be required to use a perks slot to avoid unwanted gameplay styles?
Hmmm...
*ponders in tunneling/camping/slugging

I don't have problems with survivor perks, just that I feel completely powerless against a key user during end game. Especially if they know the location of the hatch, how are you supposed to guard both gates and the hatch?
There should be an opening animation like exit gates have.

This is funny. I had a survivor team go nuclear on me in post game chat because they couldn't use their key due to t3 madness. Suggest you learn how to manage madness tiers better, friend.

How does adrenaline reward bad playstyles?

NOED rewards people for not protecting gens.
You say that DH doesn't leave people exhausted on the ground while hitboxes and pallet hitboxes are some of the worst they've ever been. So stop using that bullshit response.
I said nothing about Ruin. Ruin is fine. Undying rewards people for not guarding their hex totems.
If Unbreakable removes pressure for nothing, then so does getting the 4%. There's no good reason to slug people. Just hook them and get points. You're hurting yourself by slugging.
The difference between Adrenaline and NOED is that survivors are trying to get to endgame while killers are trying to avoid it. You can't put those two perks on the same level. Especially when Adrenaline works once and NOED can work potentially limitlessly. And Adrenaline does have a counter; kill the survivor before endgame.
SB doesn't give anyone a free escape. But, if you want to use your own logic, you could say that staying on a gen longer is a "risk reward".
Yes, Prove Thyself rewards players for doing their objective. Brilliant observation.
BT does not reward anything. If the killer still wants to down the unhooked survivor, they still can. Plus, BT does nothing to protect the rescuer from a hook trade.
'the new gen perk' rewards the user for staying alive longer. What other survivors do is not my concern.

I know how to manage madness tiers but with the new hud it's really difficult to tell what level of madness they're in, either way if I wasn't doctor I absolutely stood no chance against the key user, I used static blast twice and hit her with 2 shock therapy attacks, maybe I missed one idk but the fact a key made me absolutely powerless is ridiculously op.

I honestly don't know why we are talking about perks when I'm talking about keys.... Y'all are highjacking my post.

You forgot Dead Hard, in fact you forgot all the survivor's second chance perks. No expectation of skill from survivors, but killers should play perfectly. Got it, survivor that presses E.

I feel more strongly about last survivor getting a free opened hatch than keys in general tbh, but both are really dumb

They also aren't getting any points. Let them enjoy their de-pip.

just backed out of a match because an SWF switched to keys at last second

I was showing that these things are on both sides.
Besides, I don't think getting exhausted on the ground is a reward.

If survivors can get rid of the killers op perks without any items or perks why can't the killer get rid of keys without any perks?

They don't care about points, just like I don't, I just want to kill survivors, they wanted an easy escape to troll the killer.

Yea they try that crap bc they know they're overpowered. If I don't leave or put Franklin's on in time I restart my game.

Keys are broken and needs a nerf. Devs make a good decision with memento morì, and hope they will never buff it. For now yoi can use Franklin's demise to counter it/other strong perks like hexes to prevent them to do gens, so hatch cant spawn, or one Shot them. Rancor also to kill one in end game of you like It.

The hatch needs more locks considering i can find 2 keys in a round without any perks make that 3 w plunders and 5 with aprasial. (Yes I found 5 keys in a round useing pluders/aprasial) in case your wondering yes the killer did close the hatch 3 times in a row well we all escaped one by one. It helped since the hatch spawn addons are brown and I have 50 of them (no joke i have 50) and you can almost grantee a key w plunders usually i find an average of 2. So that's a free escape at the cost of 1-2 perk slot + 1 common addon. At this point I just report hatch users for exploit's bc thats what the hatch is In its current state.

Dang, my heart goes out to that killer lol
