Cross-play between Consoles and PC should not be allowed

With the realese of Trickester just remember again that any competitive mode should not have crossplay between PC and consoles for a even environment.

For example all killers are playable but there comes a point where you are limited by the precision of the joysticks, Trickster, Blight, so hard to be good on console even killers like Oni, Billy, Huntress, Pyramid Head sometimes you need to react fast with the power and aim fast and in control that's inconsistent, not to mention other benefits like lower graphics, FPS etc, as survivors you can be faster in the movements easier 360 etc.

The point is that it is an unfair environment and open a debate that the consoles should be separate from the PC and before you mention that you can deactivate that does not work because you will not find games that function is useless.

NOTE:

Think clearly cross play is great as long as it is between PS4 and XBOX and Switch those platforms use joysticks.

It is easy to just go and play on PC but I have friends who play only on xbox and we agree that it is not fair, if they deactivate crossplay, you can only play with those who have it deactivated, they have spent more than 15 minutes trying to find a game without success, I do not say it for myself guys I speak for friends and console players, and it makes sense.

    It’s an interesting thing.

While I personally think crossplay is heaven sent, turning it off means to only play with other players who also have it off.

It’s a bit odd. Especially considering the fact that I’ve been in matches where everyone was on the same platform as I. With crossplay on. Though it’s rare.

    But oh well.

Are you playing on a next gen console?

Because i play on PS4 and i have no problem finding games if i choose to disable Crossplay.

    @Topic

Crossplay is fine and a good addition to the game.

It's optimization and better controller settings that the devs need to focus on right now.

So console and PC should be seperate... but you acknowledge that if you turn it off you don't find games...

So if they were seperate... you wouldn't find games...

So you want to play an actual game or just wait in the menu to search a lobby

    There isn’t a competitive mode?

I'm a huntress main on console and I can admit it's more difficult to play her with a controller, however if you put enough time and practice in it definitely can be done. I can even cross map people with her and knowing how difficult it is just makes it more rewarding.

Just turn off cross play. You have the choice of wait longer for a match or play cross platform. Dont try to keep me from playing with my friends just you are a trash player who feels entitled to people caring what they have to say. Its a choice you can make. If you dont like the choices presented to you, dont play.

    I get you man.

Apex Legends will allow Console Players to play with a PC lobby IF and ONLY IF they are in a group that consists of a PC Player. Basically the console player is acknowledging that they are willing to play against those with better hardware and aim control, because they wanted to play with a friend who is on PC.

OTHER THEN THIS SCENARIO, the consoles and PC player base is kept separate. Apex Legends takes “fairness” much more seriously.

BHVR has never showed any real interest in a balanced of fair game. I’d be more shocked if they properly implemented cross play but kept console and PC separate, or added the feature in now.

Personally, I rather only fight console, but I’m already at peace with the current cross-play. At least que times are faster.

They won't separate console-only Crossplay, they won't add M&K to console, we can't just go to PC because there's no Cross Progression, and apparently they cannot optimize the consoles either, especially the older ones.

I was talking about it with the friends who play on the xbox, Apex, Destiny 2 in season 15 will introduce cross play and will not cross consoles with PC in PVP unless someone on PC invites a console friend to join PC Crucible pools, that's crossplay done right

You can already opt out of it if you want, hell I'm pretty sure the ability to opt out is an actual requirement to have crossplay functionality on at least one console.

And yeah, I know that can lead to longer queues. Because the majority is either fine with PC-Console crossplay, or don't care enough about it to turn it off.

While I don't think cross-play is a mistake, I do think implementing an input-based cross-play matching and allowing console users to use M+KB would be a better way to go about it.

The game needs console-only Cross-Play, like (nearly?) every other major game has. More choices is good. I actually play with a friend that has it disabled on PSN and we find matches very quickly. And when we don't? Time to get off dbd.

I've been playing her for a good while now and only recently been able to get them, but I've been practicing her a lot more.

I have bbq and if I see someone on a gen I throw a hatchet above where they are but don't charge it because it curves back down and make sure there aren't trees etc blocking the way or it won't work.

I'm managing to get one at least once a day now and it's so rewarding, plus it puts the fear in cocky survivors when they get hit across the map and suddenly they aren't cocky anymore lol.

In one of their surveys they asked about console only crossplay as an option so it's in their thoughts at least.

There is a longer queue with it off. But if it was on for consoles only the queue wouldn't be an issue.

I don't ever bother playing ranged killers on ps5 as it's garbage.

I like crossplay, it gives me a challenge to face more experienced players that are on PC Then on console, if you lose then gg and move on pal, or you can switch crossplay off?

On Xbox if you turn it off it's like 20-30 min queue time on Killer during the day. God knows what survivor times are like.

Crossplay should never be thing between PC & console with a fast paced competitive game that involves twitch movement & muscle memory.

If you think it doesn't matter I'm guessing you predominantly gamed on either console/pc for like 95% of your gaming life. Any experienced gamer who has played on both platforms knows that a PC player will always have a massive advantage over any console player, especially once they become experienced and better at the game.

The crossplay should have been between console only or at least give a third option to have a console based crossplay only. If you want to implement full crossplay then at minimum you should offer mouse and keyboard support.

The reality is that once you start playing in the red ranks as a console player against good PC players you're at a massive disadvantage, regardless if you're a good console player, and you can forget about being competitive against like 99% of PC SWF groups at high ranks.

All it really does is feed the higher ranked PC players, but I guess they enjoy getting free ranks against players on an inferior platform.

Even if they implemented keyboard and mouse support it's still not really justified crossplaying PC to console. Most people that opt for a console do so because they don't want to be sitting at a desk playing with keyboard/mouse & they use the console as a entertainment system.

It's pretty obvious even after only playing for a few months that the Devs don't really give a s**t about the playerbase or fair gameplay. Sadly that seems to be the way these days for most gaming companies developing new or existing games.

    Just turn it off lol?

I am against removing it cuz of selfish individuals like u. queue times is astrocious without it

Nice troll accounts with only a week since registered btw

  • Lost_Boy
    Lost_Boy Member Posts: 677

The problem with turning it off is people don't want to wait 30-40 mins for a game so they put up with the disadvantages it brings. Still doesn't make it right though.

My guess is that it massively benefits PC players having shorter queue times and is probably the reason it was originally implemented PC to console crossplay. Had a console only crossplay been made available I doubt any sane person on console would be playing with PC players and the queue times would have been probably just as good as they're now. The only people this truly benefits are PC players by giving them shorter queue times and easier games at higher ranks.

Why should the devs listen to a few individuals like u when theres also a side like us that doesnt want it removed? and ur on a troll account with only a week since registed so ur point arent valid

again just turn it off if u dont like it. Queue times are worst? woudlnt that contractdict what u just said since u only said it benefit PC players when its the same for console in queue times?

Selfish ppl like u did u even realize there are ppl like us who play with friends on Console while we're on PC? Did u think about this? So why should we sacrifice just cuz a few individuals like u wanted this change when there are ppl that arent

Queues times on PC even without Crossplay is near instant due to no one wanting to play Red Rank Killer. its only PC Survivors that have high queue times, same with console

As someone who plays mainly on console. you missed two things.

1 people playing on console are far less likely to hack. where as they can go up against full on hacking PC player

2 the one thing they did to movement that evened the playing filed got bitched out of existence because people needed their 360's to survive.

    1. There isn’t any competitive mode in this game
    2. Only a select few killers have advantage on PC, and killers don’t face killers

And yet that doesn’t mean anything because survivor gameplay is literally the same on both

I'm on console (XBOX ONE) and turned crossplay off awhile ago. I will never put it back on either, every time I tried with either role, the game would crash as soon as it loaded the map. Queue times aren't that bad either, but I generally play midday or late night so that may be why. But yeah, PC just has way too much of an advantage anyway with the poor console optimization.

I would say voice comms are way unfairer than cross play.

For cross play, at least you have an option to turn off.

For voice comms, killers don't have a choice to avoid SWF with voice comms and solo ques can't use them.

So no, if you bring up the fairness of DBD, there are unfairer things in DBD which should be more prioritized than cross play.

Not only that, in DBD, killers and survivors are already in an unfair situation.

So the advantage or disadvantage you get from the difference of player environment is marginal.

You do realise that turning it off does not work specifically because nobody agrees with you....right?

Some people have such toxic comments here wow, it’s entirely true that the difference between a legacy Xbox one / PS4 vs PC with an i9 and GTX 3080 is night and day lol let’s be real guys there’s a BIG competitive advantage to playing at 20-30 FPS vs 120++

Most of the problem would be solved if they just let console users play on mouse and keyboard, I know this is up to BHVR on Xbox. On next gen this would essentially solve the issue entirely.

I have no problem with crossplay. It did shorten my que time as survivor and as killer i get fast matches without crossplay. I play on ps4 red rank and i dont know when i waited longer as a minute the last time except the day of a new killer release.

Having our aim sensitivity separate from our movement sensitivity would be a great start.

I´m console killer and I´m rank one with crosspley on and I always play all the killers because I like play with all and I don´t see a problem, and also see a good streamers on PC playing with controls and they don´t have problem too in fact I hate play with player in my own plataform because I see usually more swf and I don´t know why

The thing is... for controller killers on consoles it doesn’t really matter if the survivors play with controller or M&K.

you Never compete with another killer that uses M&K directly so it’s not really that unfair.

also there are many PC players that play on controller (for many different reasons), but there doesn’t need to be any separation here as well.

  • Katzengott
    Katzengott Member Posts: 1,210

Xbox Series X and PS5 players are forced to play with crossplay.

Without it the que time take ages as they don't get matched with players from the older generations.

The only thing what bothers me are the potential advantages PC players CAN have. And i bet many have it in high ranks. Playing on low settings (the game gets brighter and they see pretty much no mist), using filters to see even more, much better FPS etc. Not even talking about M&K here.

On console we can't change anything. No graphics options. We have to play the game as dark and INTENDED! (which is a good thing, it looks awesome!) So yeah, would be nice and only fair to have a checkmark to exclude PC from crossplay.

I’m of the school of thought that, even though it is more challenging to aim with a controller, if one practices a lot they can get damn good at it.
