to me it seems like they really don't care about console.
they haven't given us many feature that pc have and doesn't try to level the playing field between console and pc.
it pretty disappoint and I hope they at least do something that tell us that they care other then optimization.

Welp the Q&A happened. No plans for console to get graphics options, no plans for mouse & keyboard, and a continuance on cross progression soonish-but-likely-never.
And not even a whiff of that 60fps goal from spring '19 it wasn't even brought up.
But they'll continue to let us play on the older machines while it's technically still possible.
I hope this upcoming patch get us at least back to pre-RE chapter performance. Because I personally at at the end of my metqphisical rope here with DBD.

I have very unhappy that they didn't add those two it would make the game better after they fix the problem on low spec pc/last gen console
How I'm just waiting till I can get vhs if it out before I get a pc, the game look like fun.
The only thing that is great right now is the wrait h cosmetic that I didn't get in the previous rifts, it look great and I will get it with shards.

There hasn't nearly been the attention given to the console issues. they've been worse since RE launch. It is hard to find bug reports or threads on it. When i do see a bug report i try to add my comments. But the responses from support is pretty generic. this is very disappointing as a console player who does enjoy the game and i want it to work properly.

60fps is never gonna happen in my opinion (on older consoles). I think the best we can hope for for is a stable 30fps. I do hope I'm wrong, though.

Short answer - My performance is better than it was after the RE chapter but still worse than it was before the RE chapter.
Apparently more performance fixes in the mid-chapter like for Sloppy Butcher. I want to hope it will make performance overall better but it being right before event I'm not getting my hopes up since the patches before events tend to be a jinx breaking the game so can't enjoy/participate in event. This is looking to be a pretty big patch and is bringing in a new mechanic - I'm worried.

I have a question for console people. If BHVR were able to get cross-progression working, and you could move to a different platform and keep all of your stuff, would that be an acceptable solution or no?

I usually get a stable 60- I mostly play on PC, but I do still play on console sometimes. My fps usually isn't too bad.

Basically the patches since the RE chapter came out has undone most of the damage it caused, but not all. It is presently worse off than before RE, and that chapter imo has come the closest to killing off us consolers.

I don't know if this is adressed but when playing as Ghostface AND with the power active, if I get stuned by a pallet my FAN goes like crazy for 2 or 3 seconds (like it use to happen in the offerings screen). Has anyone suffered this issue?

I'll hop on and check it out later tonight. As Ghostface going in/out of his power causes performance issues for me so wouldn't be surprised if the fans are going crazy during that time.

Started using BBQ yesterday, cause I haven't ran it in a hot minute. Each hook is a quick freeze. But I'm sure most of y'all probably knew that.

This is interesting actually; I can’t believe I never thought to look if the hook freezes are only when using BBQ, as I’ve definitely had some where it doesn’t freeze and might not have been running BBQ.
If that’s the case then I wonder if unhook freezes are simply related to perks like BT/We’ll Make It etc that activate on unhook rather than the base mechanic of hook/unhook?

I’m pretty sure unhook freezes are related to those perks, but I’m not quite sure if they are without them.

I think it is likely that it's perk related - it would also make sense if it is, even if it's not killer perk related but something like Kindred for example - that would fit with the issue re status effects, if the aura is causing this

When the performance fixes list Sloppy Butcher is the performance fix for just the perk or is it actually for the status effects it causes. Asking because Huntress add-on Begrimed Head has the same status effects and causes freezes when it's used, wondering if upcoming Sloppy Butcher fix would fix that as well if fix is for status effects as a whole.

I've always thought it was the on-screen icon for Exposed or whatever popping up, in particular for the first time in a match, that causes the hitches in performance. Y'all think it may be the activated effect coming into play?

As someone who already jumped platforms a while back, no. The solution should not involve having to re-buy the game on a different platform, assuming someone even has that platform readily available to play on.

I can confirm that BBQ does cause stutters/freezing upon hooking the Survivor, it is not consistent though, it will not occur every time and it is relatively minor.
I can also confirm that Borrowed Time does cause freezing upon a successful unhook. I'm not sure if it's consistent or not, I will test it further.
I will hopefully have some clips to back it up soon.

It makes sense that it's the effect being activated and not the icon popping up on the screen causing the issues. If it was just the icon popping up on someone's screen then they should've been the only one to have a freeze, but with Sloppy and DH there are freezes for players not having the icons pop up on their screen. I think the icon wasn't the cause of the performance issues but more so helped pinpoint trigger for the performance issues.

You can barely see the stutter from BBQ, probably because of the FPS but it was fairly noticeable on my end.

Just played a few games after being gone for a few months and Nemesis still makes my game lag like a #########. Like it's not as bad as it was when it first came out but the optimization still isn't the best.

Small Update: I finally have footage of the hacker I encountered with Crossplay OFF.
How does this relate to performance? They dropped an unbodly amount of firecrackers and crashed my game.

Shhhhhh don't give them ideas like that. Give them cool ideas like unlock all perks on characters or give everyone few million BP or bunch of iri shards.... I wish hackers were cool instead of ruining everyone's time... 😂

Considering optimisation/controller viability/etc. which killers are the top 5 viability wise for you guys?
My most played killers are actually the ones people consider on the bottom. It just happened that I love those.
I wanted to try some new ones that are strong. Already played some considered the top like Spirit but was never big on her.
So I am interested which of the top ones are playable on console in your opinion and hopefully I didn't already play them or gave them enough chance.
It could be Oni and Pyramid head maybe? Those two I consider interesting but don't know how playable Oni is on console for example.
Looking forward to your suggestions.

I love Trapper. I've never had any performance issues with Trapper outside bloodlust kicking in or the usual dumb triggers like from perks/maps. Because his power is so basic he tends to be able to avoid any additional performance issues. Haddonfield is also his best map thanks to grass and those long fence areas. 😂

Yep, they are not in the live patch notes. Either they didn't put them in because of space, or they were testing them and they didn't work.

I'm interested in trying out my Piggy's changed add-ons for sure, but still think her base kit needs luvins.
Spirit should still be viable despite her changes, and imo the best console killer, followed by a good Blight. If Nurse wasn't still riddled with bugs, worms, ticks, weevils, and termites for years now she would be, and a fantastically devoted but troubled player could with time.
The other killers without a ranged aspect mostly are viable when mastered. In contrast, Trickster would still have trouble with getting kills on console even if he borrowed Nemmy's rocket launcher and had a few grenades too...

I feel like there's something specific with the performance issues with how they hit you guys, feel like you have way more crashes than rest of us. Like for every 1 ps has from performance issues you guys have 10. 🤦♀️
