I'm worried the Spirit changes are going to hurt performance. The dust makes me think of how the fog already hits performance. The new add-on where she explodes to block vaults I feel like it will cause freezes. 😬

Just a random thought, but why are there no Fog Whisperers from console? I know some console streamers like One_Stalky_Boi get way more viewers than some Fog Whisperers out there and they'd help a ton on exposing console problems. Idk if the program is exclusive to PC, never bothered to read it.

I think it was originally because the codes they gave out were steam only and when they had events like Into the Fog there was no crossplay for console and pc fog whisperers to play together. Now they have redeem codes and crossplay there's really no reason to not have some console fog whisperers.

Can you imagine them doing an Into the Fog stream on console with how the performance is?
I think they avoid like the plague, anything that might show the game in a bad light.
I only hope that when they fix these new PC problems, it has a knock on effect and improves console too; though I feel even if not, that these issues will take priority over the ones we’ve been facing all this time.

I watched the first group on a Fog Whisperers stream instead of DBD stream and they were commenting on some of the performance issues they were running into during the match. Don't think you would hear it if watching DBD stream because of the commentators.
Performance issues are probably a big reason for not having console in the program at this point and that's really unfortunate.

I’ve always said I think there would be huge benefit to the dev team having at least 1 person playing on console who could bring some simple QoL changes that would massively improve our experience.
Any sort of controller options would be great, dead zones, acceleration etc.
The fact the PS4 fans actually spin DOWN once a match has loaded, from the insane noise while waiting in lobby.
Being able to unequip perks/items with a button press rather than the clunky virtual mouse pointer we currently have.
There’s a lot of small easy changes that would have a massive impact on the console gameplay experience imo.

Totally agree. Having some console fog whisperers would not only be good for the reasons you listed but also it would lessen the feeling of a PC bias from only having PC fog whisperers. Console needs representation to help hold devs accountable and adding fog whisperers from console is a great way to do it. The current fog whisperers can only do so much when they aren't personally experiencing the console issues, they can only say "I've heard from console players in my community..."

I remember reading somewhere their method to give out codes & auric cells (to show off new cosmetics) to the Fog Whisperers can only be done through Steam atm.

I remember seeing that back before they introduced the redeem codes in the store. Now they have the redeem codes for all platforms that's just an old excuse that is no longer acceptable.

I don't disagree and I'd love to see console represented this way. I suspect they'd rather not advertise their game performance on any console, especially the prior gen ones, but even with problems cropping up on the new hard to get ones as well. My opinion though.

Yeah, I said before that performance is probably big reason why they won't add console to the Fog Whisperers program and they definitely wouldn't say that out loud. It's really unfortunate console misses out on representation because they've ignored performance issues for such a long time.

Two part dev update, nothing on any performance fixes they have planned for mid-chapter. Based on amount of changes I'm a bit worried about the impact to performance. The Mindbreaker change adding additional status effects concerns me quite a bit.

As you've found out, it was saved for the patch notes.
With all the posts about PTB, I was hoping you hadn't missed that update in the Patch Notes...I sincerely hope when this patch goes live this will help out a great deal, from what I can understand these are the issues that affect consoles the most.

I'm definitely happy to see not only performance fixes included in the patch notes but also which ones are included. It's definitely good to finally see fixes for ones that have been triggers and cause of frustration for quite awhile now.

I’m gonna go a little bit off topic because this concerns me. But I worry about BHVR not supporting last gen consoles in the near future. I don’t know when i’ll be able to upgrade because of the shortage.

I feel they should only abandon last gen consoles when they're a lot in stock so everyone could get one.

Please do not worry, I do not foresee removing support for last gen consoles for quite some time yet. I can't say it will never happen of course, but not any time soon.

Do you know if any of these will affect the freezes that happen related to killer powers sometimes?
As survivor/killer whenever Demo goes into portal; or playing as Freddy when survivors drop dream pallets for example.
Also will the Balanced change affect Lithe also?
Looking forward to trying these changes out though as they should make a massive difference <3

Anyone else gets unresponsive inputs after the match is over? It doesn't freeze but whatever I press doesn't work.
So I am forced to close the game and start again because I can't continue to the menu.
It happens a lot but not always. Most of the time tho.

Can I ask if the dev or playtest team test dbd on console? If it hasn't been ask before.
Just wanted to know. Also I'm happy that there will be fixes to status affect and exhaustion etc.The game might freeze less and I'm hoping the game will be more bearable to play.

When I'm playing with my swf teammate after a match he'll be kicked from my lobby and we both need to restart the game to play together again. I won't be able to back out to the main menus or invite him in until I restart the game.
It's been a thing for me for like a year. There's no consistency to it. Sometimes it's after a couple matches, others it's after a dozen. Sometimes it's after we both escape, others one of us dies and was spectating.

Mandy, do you know if there's anything being done for ps4 fans going crazy in menus, lobbies and archives? They sound wicked bad and it's pretty worrying.

If I played solo for a day I didn't notice it happening. Maybe it's desync issues that have gotten worse? Like as swf more likely to run into it but now whatever was causing it is happening to solo too?

Fellow gamers, and especially consolers! The Q&A questions are open and I wish to call attention to two of them:
I created one asking for an update about their goal to get all platforms running the game at 60fps minimum from spring 2019. i and others have brought up this goal many many times before, in this thread and on countless other ones. Please upvote it should you feel as strongly about this subject as I do.
@bm33 has created one asking about Fog Whisperers on console, of which I believe there are none. We discussed this subject briefly on this thread, but I also feel this is a worthy endevor to bring up too. As far as possible candidates, I'm looking at you @Pulsar no matter any recent hot waters, but other streamers should be able to apply with their platform irrelevant. Please upvote this as well.

This is exactly how the game currently looks on my fairly high-end PC. These half-second-long freezes happen constantly and it's ridiculous.
Every once in a while there's a patch that improves performance and stops these frequent freezes, and my rank skyrockets until the next update when all these problems come back.
It's been especially bad since the Pinhead update.
Once again, a health pass is desperately needed, but BHVR will never do it because we keep playing the game and giving them money despite these infuriating problems.

My last game against Wraith was another performance issue. Every time he used his bell my game start to stutter for maybe 1 or 1,5 seconds. Very comfortable in a chase.

Just a small update.
These are the only two things (other than Wraith coming out of his cloak) that I've observed to be consistent issues for Killer. Please note that this doesn't mean other things don't happen, just that this is what I'm experiencing most often.
So far, it's been a big improvement over the last few months/years. I'd still like to know when 60 FPS is going to be added though.

I don't know if this is just me but earlier when I used For the People, my game froze for like 3 seconds.

The unhook freeze is on the patch notes to be fixed, and balanced landing is also so I hope that affects sprint burst and lithe as well.
Ive got some clips I can upload later related to perks and killer powers.
As survivor when blast mine triggers I freeze, when Demogorgon enters portal I freeze as survivor; and playing as freddy when a survivor drops a dream pallet it freezes me.
I noticed though that even the unhook freeze doesn’t happen all the time and some of the clips have an unhook that doesn’t freeze followed by a killer power freeze.
Don’t think they can be ignored as killer performance problems any more as they also freeze me when playing as survivor against a lot of killers, PH and Nemesis still cause freezes when I’m no where near the killer and seems to be related to the tentacle/dragging sword.

I use Flashbang and Blastmine. Before last update the freezes from both were pretty terrible for me as survivor. I wouldn't even be near the gen I put Blastmine on and I would freeze pretty bad when it went off - I think part of it was the notification bubble I received. The freezes from them now seem to be more related to the map I'm on - if it's a map that increases performance issues like Coldwind, Ormond or RPD the freezes are rough and can make match unplayable. On map that I don't experience increased performance issues like Haddonfield the freezes don't feel as harsh - still annoying and can totally screw me or the killer but not as much as on the maps where performance is just terrible.
Huntress and Wraith have been the worst for me lately when it comes to performance issues. I can feel myself just giving up because I don't want to deal with a stuttering match, especially on maps where the performance issues are the worst. My swf teammate and I just go wait under a hook instead of dealing with the freezes everytime a Huntress winds up/throws a hatchet or Wraith goes in/out of cloak. Had a Huntress on Ormond running addon that basically was Sloppy effect on top of running Sloppy - I just killed self on first hook because it felt like slide show from the freezes, I just didn't have the patience.

Ok these first few Vs Demogorgon are on Father Campbells Chapel which isn't a big map, or one I would usually associate with freezes like RPD.
This one is a Blast Mine freeze with a hook that doesn't freeze:

This one is also Demogorgon when entering portal, but another hook that does not freeze weirdly:
And this last one is Freddy freezing when a survivor drops a dream pallet, but it is on RPD:
All on a standard base PS4.

I can also confirm that Nemesis's Tentacle still freezes when you are Contaminated as Survivor.

Disappointed they didn't address the optimization promise question that was asked in Q&A. Wish they went into more about performance fixes when they had the chance with the graphics options question.
With the question from Japanese player about supporting ps4/Xbox one was happy to hear they will continue support. What I noticed was he said "we love our Japanese player base" not "we love our console player base" - seemed weird to focus on it being Japanese player base instead of console player base, almost like if it wasn't for the Japanese players we'd be screwed?
