add more active play for survivors? tired ideas at 3am
Ok to preface this rant its 3am, im very tired and my ideas may or may not be very legible, make much sense or actually be very balanced but here we go:
To me atm, the general consensus from the community is that survivors are op, and that gens move far to fast. i believe that in order to fix this, we should not only add extra objectives, but some way for the survivors to slow the game down to gain themselves time to do gens.
hear me out, a survivors goal at the moment is to leave the map and escape in order to win, and while thats not really playing the game in a team sort of format, it is how many play the game. One of the reasons survivors are so op is actually due to their map awareness (which to an extent also comes from their allys and possiblity of swf.) a way to help solve this issue, would to make survivors camera only face foward while running and while walking be far stiffer in its rotation, only allowing full rotation when crouching or standing still (or on a gen.) this would make it easier for killers to mind game survivors in a chase, However, speaking of chases a majority of people find it far more fun to run the killer round as its far more active play then, to sit on a generator and hold mouse 1. my solution to this is to keep gen speeds as they are, and add alternative methods for survivors to fend off the killer while also giving most killers are smaller terror radius to allow for stealthier plays which in retrospect would act as a buff to survivors i guess but i mean it in a way to add more methods to defend oneself and not to buff what is already useable by adding more? (again tired rant at 3am). by more ways to fend off the killer im talking ways to slow the killer down stun the killer (firecrackers?). by doing this and adding an extra objective to find a quote on quote weapon, it would lead to more time in the match. perhaps extending exit gate timers considerably and adding totems around the map that shorten that timer. i mean you can sit on the gate for a minute, but you could also run around and find a totem that shortens the time to a few seconds. perhaps even have bloodwarden built into all killers kits (albiet a nerfed version) in order to keep people in the math longer. Going back to the "weapon idea" im thinking more of something that is a single use item, possibly stored in the killers basement, perhaps a knife or some other thing to stun the killer temporaily ( that can only be picked up post gens, or activates bloodwarden upon use? idk im tired) (while their in the midst of an action?) this would keep people in the match wanting to get an altruistic save, from the killer.
TLDR: Add extra objectives, shorten the survivors frame of view in a chase for mindgames, possibly add extra methods of defence allowing for riskier plays and different spicier scenarios
