Franklins Demise
Ok so I just went into a game with a ranger med kit with some good add ons and because i didnt want to lose them i used a white ward offering however the killer used franklins which basically made my white ward useless. Anyone else think white ward should make the item not drop on franklins or make it so you do not lose the item even after you die and franklins takes it?

I think Franklin's is fine.

I think you should keep your item after the trial, but it's completely fair if Franklin's gets used on it.

Franklin's is a band-aid fix to bad item balance. It feels like a wasted perk slot as killer, and it feels like you've been robbed when you get hit by it as survivor. Literally nobody thinks it's a fun perk.

@Skarkio Me too, Franklin’s is my favourite perk!
3 -
Yeah it should. I understand it if someone's brought a key but other than that Franklin's is the most anti fun perk in the entire game.

I see nothing wrong with franklins. If I bring a key I'll just drop it somewhere and retrieve it when hatch spawns. If you're worried about franklins you should do the same for your items so you don't feel like you wasted them.
6 -
No, I do not think that. You should never have a guaranteed 100% chance of not losing an item.

I agree with a lot of the sentiment here that Franklin's is fine. If you want your item, go and pick it up. It's not as if it vanishes. Killers need some sort of counterplay to the keys and flashlights and toolbox.

Franklin's dropped items despawn after a certain amount of time.

Franklin's is fine
1 -
Not if you manually put it down, to be fair.

True; I just wanted to be clear since the post wasn't making that distinction.
2 -
Franklin's is the only counter to keys and it shouldn't be the only counter tbh.
Franklin's is fine and rarely relevant
3 -
Pretty much this. There are no guarantees in the game.

There are built in counters to Franklin's. Personally I jump in a locker to get grabbed but you can also drop your item if you're about to be hit. Someone might steal it though so you can also hide it in a corner until you need it or after you use it.
Do any of those guarantee you'll keep your item? No, but items are not some precious resource and should not be treated as such. I go into every match expecting to lose my item, there's no reason to get attached to them.

I would say that NO, white ward should not make it so that you keep your item, except that the killer never has to lose their equipable items if they run a black ward. So I think that for fairness sake the survivor should be able to "keep" (AKA: Get back) their item at the end of the match even if it gets destroyed by Franklin's Demise. Just to be clear, I think that Franklin's should still make you drop the item (and make it get destroyed), but you get the item back at the end of the match.

Sorry clarify, they don't vanish immediatly. Usually, your to busy chasing folks to camp out an item. So it's really on the survivor to just run back and scoop it up.
1 -
I'll be totally honest, I always forget to jump into a locker if I wanna save an item. I should do that more.

You just asked a pro-survivor question in the anti-survivor forums... I'm afraid you will not get unbiased answers here my friend.

I think it would be awesome if the killer did get to keep the items lol

Right I honestly thinks it's a waste of a perk slot, because If someone has a key I know they go pick it up regardless. So I never use it as a killer. And if I'm a survivor and I get hit, and the killer has Franklins, I will go and pick up my item and use it, and hide it somewhere in the corner of the map and pick up it up later if it looks like we will get out. Or if I find a key, I usually just pick it up and hide it, or leave in the chest, or pick up if we need it, or later on.

I don't know what you are trying to prove. On the contrary, what this doesn't prove is that Franklin's is fun nor does it prove that Franklin's is what won those games for you, hence the DC's and stuff.

That's lame.

Why do you run Bamboozle, NOED, Lightborn and Franklin's on every killer? I mean, I saw Iron Maiden and Sloppy in there, but don't you have like any other perks?
I mean, it's not like that's inherently wrong or anything, just... why?

Sloppy is the only one I could see pote ntially running on most killers but the rest....nahhhh for me. Bamboozle is a distant second most likely

I just think it's an unhealthy perk. Some perks give bp, but this is the only one that takes it away. Ranger medkit, commodius toolbox, pink key, doesn't matter. They just get deleted from the game along with their add-ons, even through white ward apparently.

You can actually buff the perk and remove the unealthy part at the same timr. The despawning effect just felt like a dev troll job when they introduced it.
Make it so you drop the item, shorten the timer and make it consume all the charges instead of despawning. Depleted items are shown with a red aura when dropped on the ground via on-hit and with a Ghostface red glowing effect when carried (think of the vfx when GF marks a survivor. They glow red, but it's not an aura as it doesn't display through walls).
Make that keys cannot open the hatch if they don't have any charges left.
Boom, you even buffed Franklin's and removed almost any trolling potential.
The interaction with White Ward would require an ad hoc effect, but I doubt the devs would be willing to code it.
P.S. when I say trolling, it's because there've been killers who'd been banned literally for griefing for Franklin'ing survivors and then DC'ing to make them lose the item (and admitting to it in chat).
