Don’t we already have something very similar in the Spirit? I personally wouldn’t be against some kind of supernatural survivor but just adding a Spirit look alike into the occasion seems kinda meh to me.

The Spirit is a knock off brand of Grudge/Ring....why wouldn't you want the real thing?

Because Spirit already fulfils that type of horror no? I wouldn’t really be opposed to them adding the Grudge but it would be kind of boring and uninspired. Especially if their power is just a rip off spirits. We’d just have the Leatherface situation again where Leatherface essentially ripped off Billy’s power with minor changes.

The Spirit more than covers the J-horror theme as far as I'm concerned. Modern J-horror is so cliche and repetitive. "Oh look, another ominous pale Asian kid with black hair just kind of standing around. So much scare".
The Thing, The Fly, a vampire, a werewolf, Frankenstein's Monster, an ogre, a cult leader, Hannibal Lector, a crazy hobo, a ninja, a suited government assassin, one of the mutant children with sledgehammers from The Brood, etc. There are so many other characters I'd like to see before we get another "spooky" Japanese killer.
Not to bag on you, just my own preference.

Based on what they do in the movies and what spirit does in game. They all do phasing while grudge and ring don't do anything else really beyond phasing.
Grudge MAYBE you could say weird crawling and loud noises but that's about it
Ring basically just crawling and phasing

Actually, the spirit is an Onryo, simply a vengeful spirit. The Grudge/Ring died of specific circumstances in which their power could be based off of.

Well are you basing this off of the american versions or the japanese versions? The japanese ring ghost actually uses hair a lot in their powers so I think that could be different enough

2 main powers I noticed, slowing people down, and hair choking. But people don't know enough about the series and just brush it off with this knock off spirit we have.....sad...

I watched all of the American ones (besides the newest Grudge). Yeah I agree people don't know enough about them but the truth is that the Devs are going to appeal to mainstream audience and its a shame most people don't know as much about them as there really is, which unfortunately means most people don't see a need to them being added:/ id enjoy the grudge at least (the ring was Overrated to me) but I can see why most wouldn't be that excited about it
