What info do we have on Cross Progression?

I remember it was such a big thing for BHVR that they did Cross Progression with Stadia and Steam. Then it turned out to be bugged and erase user data or something (dont quote me on that). But all of that was so long ago. What happened to Cross Progression? Will we see console to Steam and vice versa? It just doesn't make sense why they made it such a big deal and now there's been zero info on it for months. I never see it mentioned in the twitter, reddit, or even forums.

If it’s coming for consoles to Steam then they’ll likely announce it in the 5th Anniversary stream. If they don’t announce it then, then it probably won’t come for quite some time or maybe never.
