Dead hard is so annoying
Honestly this perk is making me not want to play killer anymore because this perk robs me from getting an easy down/hook and literally saves survivors behind. I know to respect it and stuff but survivors can STILL time it right when you respect it. I honestly hate that perk more than decisive.

Crazy how nobody complained about this perk for like 2/3 years and now it's talked about daily as being an issue.

Because it's only relatively recently been used as a perk to gain distance to a loop or window. People are only just now realising that it is far more effective at that than it is at dodging hits.
The latency causing exhaustion on the floor doesn't help this disparity, either.
Personally, I hate the perk. It takes no skill to use and is basically another health state when used properly (which is not difficult). I would be completely fine removing it from the game. It's the ultimate second chance perk, far more then Decisive Strike and Unbreakable could ever hope to be.

I know the perk is frustrating, but a bit of personal advice to help you cope with that uneasy sentiment is that If they weren't using DH, it would be SB or Lithe or other exhaustion instead that would possibly put them in a safer situation.

This perk is too inconsistent on any killer other than Plague and Legion

The majority of perks in this game take 0 skill to use.
and as far as I know it's always been used for distance, just lesser so when it could actually dodge a hit.

Dead Hard is a crutch, it really hurts, but there is not much we can do about it =/

This post is a joke I press Dead Hard and I get hit while I'm exhausted my ping is always around 31ms. Just play around Dead Hard easy, many people do it.

The majority of perks don't give such a huge advantage for no effort.
Look at the other Exhaustion perks. They all have some stipulation before they can be activated that reduces their usefulness, making them all viable alternatives to each other.
Sprint Burst can't be saved unless you waste time walking all over the place.
Lithe needs a window or pallet vault.
Balanced Landing needs a high enough drop (and some maps such as Shelter Woods have none at all, except the basement stairs).
Smash Hit requires a successful pallet stun.
Dead Hard can be activated on will to save yourself after making a mistake. That's pure second chance in a nutshell, and can be used multiple times per game. At least DS and Unbreakable are single use only.

To be fair,there were a TON of other things (e.g insane amount of pallets,god windows,other really broken perks,pallet vacuum etc.) that overshadowed Dead Hard.

@legacycolt maybe you dont know how to counter deathslinger without dead hard its all about misdirecting him and shaking your character but not to much though. I promise you 9/10 he will miss his shot. Some maps are deathslinger sided but just dont run to places where he can shoot you over stuff. What i mean by misdirecting him is like bait him by faking a window or pallet simple as that.

No it's not a second health because you're still injured, even after you use it. Missing a hit does not equates having a second state.

Yet missing a hit that otherwise would have connected, or making it to a loop they otherwise wouldn't have, is a pretty good way to have the chase duration extend drastically, the same as hitting a healthy Survivor gives them time to run while the Killer is wiping their weapon.
I also didn't say it is a second health state, because it obviously isn't. I said it 'basically is', which means it comes close to having the same outcome, which it does.

Well that's Dead Hard for you. Very annoying and in your face, not terribly effective compared to other exhaustion perks. Pretty much the Ben Shapiro of DBD perks.

You mean it stopped working to dodge hits so now it's used differently but gives the same affect, survivors will gain just as much distance if they were able to use it to dodge a hit as they are now by using it before it gets wasted by them being exhausted on the ground.

I mean I love dead hard, think it's a great perk and enjoy going against it, but everyone says it takes no skill so why are people saying others got better at using it.
Killers also cry that "survivor don't adapt" yet they adapted a broken perk to make it work for them, seems fine to me.

I'm unsure of the point you're trying to make? If someone says someone got better at doing something it would imply their skills have improved, I just pointed out that people always say it takes no skill and though it was funny.

It was never really used for distance, so it was easy to bait out unless you were playing one of the killers that cannot bait it. Now, with the shift towards using it for distance and the increased amount of killers that it hurts either way (Oni, Deathslinger, PH, Blight, Twins, even reworked Wraith) have changed the perception of Dead Hard.

That doesn't mean their skills improved, it just means survivors got smarter and learned how to use it in different situations. Also you said killers adapted to a broken perk, what perk are you talking about?

sprint burst is better than dead hard on so many levels.
got stuck at a bad loop? sprint burst got ya covered
the killer is about to hit you? use it
working on a gen and the killer near you? use sprint burst to get to a strong loop
the killer is a huntress or deathslinger thats about to hit you? use sprint burst to make them miss
seriously, dead hard has screwed me over in more situations than it has helped me in. the only time i would consider dead hard better than sprint burst is if youre up against a nurse

Nah, the real reason is, because other things got nerfed. I remember when they nerfed DS and added the Unhook-Requirement, the Forums were filled with Threads to nerf Adrenaline (a Perk nobody talks about nowadays), because Killers instantly went for the next Perk, after one was nerfed.
DH is basically the same, at some point, the Devs will maybe even nerf it (to please the loud Killer playerbase..), and what then? The Killers will go for Sprint Burst, because it will be really annoying to go to a Gen with a Survivor sitting there, getting close and they still get distance, despite sitting on the Gen as long as possible. (Which is IMO more annoying than a DH for distance, because they ACTUALLY get distance...)
EDIT: And lets not forget that Killers are the ones who are complaining that "every Survivor uses the same Perks", while they want to nerf those Perks constantly (nerfing DH will just let the majority of people who use DH today switch to Sprint Burst, which will be less variety and another Exhaustion Perk used) and are against buffing other Perks (Lucky Break)... Does not really work out to have the opinion that there is not enough variety, but on the same time, this variety should be even less or should not increase.

Killer mains: It is STILL useful. Survivors just can't abuse no mo!!! Every survivor should run this!!! They just won't cuz dey suk. Every survivor is bad at the game despite survivor being braindead easy. If I played survivor I would escape 100% of the time with no OP perks like Left Behind.

Sprint burst being a lost of time if you keep it ? The recent buff Fixated permits to be extremely efficient with Sprint Burst and Vigil, it's my main build and I often use twice SB in chases, and I rarely keep my SB when I search gens because I know I'll retrieve it fast. "Yeah but an entire build around a perk is a bad thing", no, because you'll be extremely good at it, and in the case of SB, it lets you run to gen faster, and to escape the killer, go away from a dead zone, etc... Sprint Burst is a better perk than DH because of its multi usage. Also, with SB and Fixated, you can walk quite fast, and leave a gen without making any scratch marks.
Dead Hard seems more powerful than the other Exhaustion Perks because it robs you a hit in front of your eyes, when you have already been looped for a while, when you are in the mind of "gg, got you", then DH.
The other exhaustion perks come when you begin a chase or in a middle of a chase, so you don't have this frustration, but the value is the same : extend the chase.
Personally, as a killer, I'm more afraid of a good SB user than any DH user, because being efficient with SB mean you're managing yourself very well, you know the game.
DH is frustrating, but is in a good spot.

Dead hard is complained about because it's beneficial affect is the most obvious.
It's obvious when someone stays alive because of dead hard and takes on loops for another 30-50 seconds that dead hard caused all that time wasted.
When someone uses sprint burst to effectively never be out of position it can be just as good if not even stronger because they're always running the maps safest loops and occasionally get dead hard+ levels of value by 99ing the exhaustion. This is not as "in the face" of the killer and keeps the survivor alive in a more indirect way, despite having the same or even better some would argue levels of strength.
