Any Means Neccessary needs a buff?

For a long time I've been thinking that AMN (Any Means Neccessary) needs a buff, one that makes killer prevent from breaking the pallet while you're doing the animation? And add something that lets you break those doors.

For example on Grave of Glenvale, that room when you get into it you can't escape, only from the window.

But anyways, there's way more ways that you can fix that perk, It's fine but sometimes it's a wasted spot...

It would be so busted if you the killer couldnt cancel the animation. He would always get double stunned, and theres nothing he could do about it in the most places.

The design of AMN makes it hard to make it consistently good without making it too busted. I think that it should just show the auras of dropped pallets and the cool down should be reduced. It will still rely on the killer’s play style.

Okay so I was kinda proud of this post and now I think it's cringe, also, it's a very good idea the aura of dropped pallets!

Yeah, the only buff this perk needs is showing the aura of downed pallets (preferably mapwide).

Sometimes we get ideas that seem good, and then other people point out potential issues and you go “oh yeah...” Nothing cringe about having an idea and changing your mind on it later :)

It got nerfed to a 4 second animation instead of a 3 second animation for a good reason.

I use the perk regularly and it’s quite effective and satisfying to use, especially if you accidentally pull down a pallet when trying to heal someone.

AMN isn't a good perk and no reasonable buff would fix it. Good (Safe) pallets generally get broken after they're thrown, unsafe pallets might get left behind. But is it worth the effort to pick up the unsafe pallets?

The only buff I would add is to decrease the time of resetting a pallet or having perks be able to affect the reset time, while also not putting AMN in cooldown untill a pallet is fully reset.

That still allows killers to break pallets, but it decreases the time window of them being able to break it, while also not making AMN essentially useless.

As for survivors being able to break breakable walls? No, there are a lot of doors that can open up extremely powerful loops. It's meant to discourage killers from breaking every single breakable wall and punish killers for breaking doors. Which is why there are even guides on which doors are always worth breaking, which doors are only worth breaking in certain scenario's and RNG and which doors you should never break.

Sure, you could argue that survivors could have that same punishment, but at high ranks, survivors will only break doors that benefit survivors without killers being able to do anything about that. Dead Dawg Saloon is a great example. Opening the bedroom wall allows for arguably the strongest loop in the game as every 3 windows you vault, you lose chase, therefor resetting window timers unless you have an insane gap closer like Spirit or Nurse. A survivor being able to break that wall is gamebreakingly strong.

I think AMN is a solid support perk tbh. No buff necessary, heh.
