A successful Kobe can render you dead on next on hook, as if you had reached the struggle phase.
It's possible this may only happen if the penalty due to attempting escape would have caused you to reach the next hook stage, as you can see in the following video, the person kobed when they were about to hit hook stage 2.

For some reason, ever since 4.5.0 Midchapter 18.5, the hook timings have been off. In the video it looks like she had STARTED to attempt escape before second stage and went to second stage DURING the attempt animation, causing her to hit second stage before actually finishing the 2-3 second "attempt" action and be robbed of a hook state. on more than one occasion have I noticed a survivor's hook timer completely expire and vanish before being rescued last second. In this instance, I was awarded the hook points, but the survivor never died, and I was able to receive those points again after rehook him

I believe, that if you Kobe in the last few seconds of the hook stage, by the time the animation of kobe'ing has completed you are in "2nd stage" which is why if you are then hooked again, you will automatically be sacrificed.

I failed to kobe pretty much after being hooked and then I've got unhooked by teammate. - I got sacrificed on my next hook. So there definetly something wrong that needs further investigation.
