Surveillance: -Gens turn yellow instead of red when fully regressed. It's still bugged in 5.0.0
Writers note: Same video form last patch and I'll be making a new video for 5.0.0
Platform: PC
Description of the Issue: Gen turn yellow nistead of red when fully regressed.
Steps to reproduce (if possible): Run both Ruin and Survalinance. Work the gen for a little bit and watch it turn yellow when fully regress.
How often does this occur: It started since the Mid-Chapter patch.

Well lets consult description of the perk
well it says right there once the regression ends, generators will be highlighted yellow
meaning that when a gen regresses to 0%, regression ends
either the intended mechanic is functioning properly since a gen at 0% is identical to a regressing gen at 0% so no point in wasting resources to keep a gen marked as regressing and have it spew out sparks "finally"
or its a bug that regression ends when a generator reaches 0%
which for a bug it only has two interactions, it either stops regressing and overcharge loses its stored skill check on a gen at 0%, or it still counts as regressing but surveillance has the gen turn red. Either way I'm all for a surveillance buff instead of an interaction that has a skill check at 0% on a gen going since at that point it does absolutely nothing of value

Since when did the dev slide that in!? According to the DbD Wiki, it says that it only glows yellow when someone touches the gen. Before the mid chapter patch, when the gen fully regressed, it used to turn from white, to red. But if the in-game description is correct, That makes this perk confusing to use then. Because if I go to a chase, I turn around to check on gens and I see one that is glowing yellow, right? I go over there and there NO ONE there. It's going to be confusing as hell if that the case. Not only that, a time wasting of a perk to boot. In anycase, I already stoped using it on my build until the dev either fix it or rework it in someway.

Also, also, that picture is a lie. THIS is the true in-game description:

Double check it myself and you are correct.
Idk why the other guy photo-shopped their image to try to gaslight the bug as being a legit feature.

Trolling reason, I am assuming, lol.

Guys Im gonna have to reign in your parade but a few months ago some gen related perk descriptions were reworded, they still have the same described effects they are just worded differently and more uniformly with other gen related perks, and you aren't important enough to me to open the entire game to screenshot the description of a perk that I can find via google even if it uses outdated wording *notice that doesn't mean it didn't have the same effect

Then why do you bother replying to this thread? Gens regressing to 0% aren't supposed to turn yellow, they never did until 4.7.0, it's clearly a bug. You're disingenuous.

I theorized why this bug was occurring based on the description of a perk which was my original point before I got sidetracked by 2 people who rolled poorly on their history checks, then responded back to them.
Check the 2nd post.
And I get that it now says edited but it was 3 words edited in the last sentence edited for clarity so I'm offering you a chance to go read that since it seemed all you came here to do was insult me

First, if I did offend you, I am going to go ahead and apologise, so let's continue our discussion.
Okay so version 2.5.0: The fully regress generator turns yellow for 16 seconds, which tells me that the gen is fully regress.
Change log patch 2.5.0 says that the generator will glow yellow whenever someone touches it for 16 seconds but leaves out the "turn yellow when fully regressed" description out of the perk
While Trivia says If a Generator regresses completely to 0 %, the Aura will turn red again, not yellow.
Either is a bug or the dev forgot to add "Generators turn yellow when fully regress for 16 seconds" part ouf it. Hmm, there is a possibilty that hte perk went back to the old 2.5.0, but I might be wrong.
In anycase, I'll have to get used to it for now and see if the dev fix the bug, or wording, on the meantime.
I am going to ask you not to disrespect other players, my guy lol. Were trying to have a normal conversation here.

You're not a moderator, so your opinion frankly doesn't matter to me. Editing screenshots so that they fit one's argument is disingenuous and I'll stick to that.

Patch 4.3.0 20 October 2020
Generator Terminology changes and clarifications
on this update the descriptions of multiple gen related perks were rewritten so they all had a more general scheme all relating to the clarifying of effects
it still had the effect from 2.5.0 as it has today, the words were merely changed in 4.3.0 for further clarification and uniformity meaning even though there are ~3 different words, it had the same effect
that cropped screenshot that I stole from google is pre 4.3.0, its not edited its just old outdated wording with the exact same effect

Heres my approximation,
When the gen reaches 0% something is causing regression to be marked as interrupted as if it was done by a survivor since before this update if a gen reached 0% it simply turned red but a few updates before it the gen turned white even at 0% which was considered a bug.
That leaves the question did they actually fix it properly then, and their fix has encountered a problem, did they fix it properly now and every thing before was a bug

That a good question and I miss the white gen at zero bug, it was helpful lol. In anycase, I belive the solution to this now is just to count to 16 seconds, if it stay yellow then I have to go over there and shoo the surivvors out of it.

It's still bugged in 4.7.2.
