Continued Issue with Seemingly Random Disconnecting
- PS4
- Central USA
- I play at all times of the day from anywhere between 7am-11pm
- It occurs daily, it's become rare to not experience it at least once per day
*I know this is long, but I wanted to give as much detail as possible since I don't currently have any clips of when these disconnects happen.
I was hoping I wouldn't have this issue anymore or as often since I saw in the 4.7.2 patch notes that this problem had been addressed, but I'm still having trouble with it. I get this problem at random- **Have not had this issue with Killer side** Only on survivor side. The most recent instance was at about 1:20pm, central time in US (05/24/2021). I was playing Quentin. It was against a Trickster on Gideon, he was currently nearby, hooking a teammate downstairs. I ran to a gen upstairs in the central room that was about to be done. I touched it for two seconds and finished it off with a teammate. However, I was stuck in the repairing animation while my teammate ran away. I knew I'd be disconnected within a few seconds.
The other instance happened even earlier today. It was against a Wraith on the Mine map of Macmillan. I had just finished a gen in the middle while Wraith was running towards me. I ran towards the Mine, had decent distance on them, but I noticed the killer was staying around the gen I'd finished and swung. I got 'hit' even though I was a significant distance away. That was what alerted me that I was about to be disconnected.
It's always when doing an action as survivor and almost always when near the killer. There's only been one instance where it happened when I was just running, though I /was/ heading in the killer's direction. This issue occurs against any/all killers and while playing any survivor, no sign of it being a particular few. I've had it happen when I interacted with a locker, a window, a pallet, a gen, a totem, even while unhooking a teammate. My character will freeze in position while everyone else is still moving. Usually just doing /anything/ besides walking or running as a survivor will trigger it. When I enter the killer's terror radius, I experience lag/frame drops. It's not like this every time, but the disconnect is almost guaranteed when I do notice this happening. My match will get laggy or stuttery (pulling me back several steps or making me vault the same pallet/window about three times, for example). Normally, if I put distance between me and them, the lag and stuttering eases up, but I know my match isn't out of danger of being disconnected since I'll likely need to be in contact with the killer again. I can even just be doing an objective when they're nearby chasing someone else, and it will kick me. I get a ban every time, as if the random disconnect isn't disappointing enough.
I think the most it happened to me once was about 4 times within a few hours and I had a 30+ minute ban. I very, very rarely disconnect on purpose so it's frustrating to be banned over something I didn't do. This used to not be much of an issue or was pretty rare. I noticed it started happening much more frequently within the last, say, four or five months. Maybe around the time the Twins were released or even a touch earlier than that. Was wondering if anyone has any insight on what could be the problem here. I play DBD pretty much exclusively and spend a lot of time playing the game (and a decent amount of $ every so often for dlc/skins) and would love to have my experience with it be more on the positive side again because it's the worst when the match is going great and almost over only to be cucked because I touched a gen/window etc and it kicks me just for that. It always tells me it's 'no internet connection' but I have good internet, great even and I pay out the nose for it. Every time this happens, I don't have loss of internet on any other device, including my phone or laptop and I have no problem closing the game and restarting it. It usually works fine for a bit after restarting, but the disconnect, like I said, comes at random. I could be fine for hours and not experience a single issue, but once I do start getting disconnected, I know it's likely going to happen again within the next couple of hours. I hope this issue can be resolved in the future and I'm curious if anyone else is also still having this problem after the most recent patch. Thanks for reading.
