One HEX only!

What if killer’s could only run one HEX, but it wasn’t one of their perks?

What if HEXES were substantially more powerful than they are now?

What if survivors had to cleanse all 5 TOTEMS before the EGC, or the remaining TOTEMS would light and become unbreakable?

What if your one HEX had those 5 TOTEMS backing it throughout your whole game?

What do killers and survivors think about this? Please tell me your main, and what you think!

Then what would be the point of totem protection perks?

I play everyone honestly, and I have HATED hex totems since they have been created. They do not work as intended, take devour hope for example. If the killer spends all the time stacking that perk chasing, looping, not camping, gen control, for the whole game and it takes a survivor just running up to it to spend 12 or so seconds on it while 3 others spam ping, flashlight, run you around your whole game can be ruined. The hex perks to me are another failed attempt at "balance". The balance is already within the perk for most hex totems outside of haunted grounds, ruin, and undying. These perks are not "powerful" off the bat. The point of the hex totems to me feel like they are only in the game to give survivors more points or to waste a perk slot for the killer. When I play survivor there is nothing stopping me from just taking 12 seconds in the beginning of the game to go and take a killers perk that does not even have use yet and get 1000 bp for doing so. They could at least have made haunted grounds a permanent effect in game where if they choose to cleanse a totem they a one hit down status effect or they cant work on gens, without the killer having to focus on protecting their perks. It would be cool if they keep this, but just for example if there were something in game killers could interact with that once the survivor uses it or touches it, if the killer interacts with it RNG would take away one perk from each survivor. That would be balanced in my opinion. There is always a talk about counter play and balance well in math to make it equal; "what we do to one side, we must do to the other".

If it were a band-aid fix, people would just tell killers who lost their totem to run them. If those perks were band-aids, they were absolutely terrible which means they can be safely incorporated to buffed totems

I guess I don’t understand what you are trying to say exactly. Do you mean that my idea is bad because there are totem protection perks, or that it is good and the totem protection perks will be even better with this idea?

No I mean that limiting hex perks to only one is a bad thing and it's not worth removing 2 perks over it.
