Gameplay mechanics rework - Solution for genrush

INTRODUCTION

I believe that today the most common complaints from players are: tunneling, camping and genrush.

What I notice is that when you are a new player is more difficulty to play as survivor because normally new killers face camp hooks and the new survivors don't know how to play against that... As soon as you become more experienced player, gets harder to play as killer without tunneling survivor because of genrush and the game become frustrating.


CHANGES

A good way to avoid the problem of genrushing and reducing the camping in my opinion would be change the way that the survivor repair gens. I'll list things that behaviour should put in game to improve these points:

  • Survivor have to search for generator parts to add in generators (1 or 2 parts for each gen, for example);
  • Make impossible to repair generators without having all parts of it;
  • Open the gate before 3 gens become completed;
  • Reduce the quantity of generators available in the map;
  • Exists the exact quantity of gen parts to complete the 3 gens in the map, no more than this;
  • Add 4 generator repairing manual hidden in all maps (a gen manual is different of gen parts);
  • Make impossible to repair a generator without having a generator manual;
  • As soon as a gen part is added to the gen it can't be removed by the killer, only by a survivor;
  • If killer hits a survivor that is carrying a gen part, it will be dropped to another survivor take it;
  • The generator manual and the gen parts can be given for another survivor;
  • If the survivor is carrying a generator manual and he dies, the manual will be destroyed;
  • If all gen manuals are destroyed and you don't have more hidden on map, then the hatch opens;
  • Make impossible to killer knows which survivor owns the manual;
  • Create a quick wheel of ready phrases to survivor communicate with other (the wheel changes according to survivor and game situation);


BENEFITS

This changes would bring some benefits to the game:

  • More immersion;
  • More realism;
  • Increase the necessity to play stealth sometimes;
  • No more genrush;
  • Repair gen will be more fun;
  • The actual mechanics will continue present in the game;
  • Chance to rework useless perks to have interaction with gen parts and gen repairing manual;
  • More utility to the item "map";
  • New strategies to survivors and killers;
  • More objectives to killer and survivors (reducing the space to killer stay camping the hook);
  • Possibility to create well defined functions in survivors team, like:

Explorer: Responsible to search for gens, manuals and gen parts;

Mechanical: Responsible to repair gens;

Medic: Responsible to heal and save survivors from hook;

Chaser: Responsible to distract the killer;
