dbd and your map design
dbd is an assymetrical game, that means that one of the sides has some advantage over the other side.
and that's ok! it's kinda frustrating sometimes but whatever man, that's how the game is supposed to be.
i really think that survivors have way too much advantages on their side but as i said whatever that's how the game is supposed to be, but there's one thing that really bother me
DBD's map design
that doesn't apply to every map on DBD but there are some maps that are straight up dumb.
take haddonfield as a good example.
the main building, the myer's house or whatever is a GIANT infinite loop, there are like 3 or 4 windows for the survivors to use and abuse and even if one of them blocks, it doesn't matter, they unblock mid chase because good lord, this loop is so dumb that unless you're a god tier nurse you have no chance at all.
other terrible maps are the new coldwind and the game.
there are so many loops so close to each other, so many pallets and so many windows that even if the survivors are just memeing around and predropping pallets in front of the killer they can still get to win pretty easily.
even some good maps have some ridiculous RNG's that completely ruins the game.
i don't think the game is unbalanced because of killers or survivor perks, i think it's unbalanced cuz there are some ridiculous maps where killers can't do anything because there are way too many loops and there are some maps (not many) that survivors struggle to get some loop.
that's what i think, bad map design and maybe that's why they stopped releasing maps, to rework some maps.
but at least these last reworked maps just got worse (but better graphically)
but that's it

I think the same about coldwind farm maps, it is very extensive and full of loops.

It seems pretty clear map design is something they've not mastered despite working on this game for over 5 years. The fact that they think the current Gideon Meat Plant map is a perfectly acceptable replacement to its predecessor is the proof. In no universe is that map enjoyable or balanced. At least Cowshed gets the excuse of being an older map and hard to grasp how strong it is for the rank 21's that designed it.

It has been said Haddonfield did not necessarily have higher survival rate than other maps.
Because a survivor is good enough to outwit a killer (ie. mindgame) in a chase does not make a map bad. The fact of the matter is, most maps are way too empty and I find it way too easy, most of the time for the killer to down. The deadzones are a much bigger issue than structures. There must be areas to entertain chases or there is no game. Would be very stale if every map was the same or predictable and always easy for killer.

The problem i have with the devs reworking maps is they put a truckload of additional pallets on the map and they expect people to be happy. Eventually all maps will look like hawkins
