Removing Nameplates In-game, and in End-Game Lobby

Idea: Remove visibility of In-Game names and switch to a more generic system.

Just show something like "Claudette" - "Claudette 2" OR "Survivor 1" - "Survivor 2" - "Killer".

If someone enjoys a player they came across, they can ADD them through the in-game system, or steam / XBOX etc; this method removes the predisposed toxicity when you play against the same player and have a reoccurring negative experience, as you cannot be certain it is the same person. So you would play each game with a fresher perspective.

This would also stop the free promotion of many offensive, often racially offensive names, and profiles.

I've always been surprised to know when I play killer, that I can see the survivors names. I find it odd that names are displayed to the killer in the first lobby, if they see a survivor they just versed, or do not like, they may play differently to how they would usually play.

If a player feels that may be someone they know, or their friend, they can simply message them through Steam / XBOX chat etc;

I can truly understand the intention of having the names the way they are now, but it is not working. More often than not, I see this system exploited whilst promoting negativity within the community.

In addition:

  • Streamers would have much less 'stream-sniping' situations occurring
  • The player base would grow to have a more positive interaction when playing against one another.

TLDR: Removes names, Improve Community Interactivity, Reduce Player Associated Toxicity

I have many doubts this will happen, but this game has a horrible reputation when it comes to community interaction and gameplay. As a company, I hope BHVR can see that something really does need to change for the sake of their growing community and game.

    how about instead making this a base thing, just add streamer mode so you can turn it off or on

    same goes for the chat filter

    I agree that there needs to be a way to shield your name from being viewed by the killer. Just like survivors cannot see the killer's name in the lobby, I don't see why it doesn't apply in reverse.

    As much as I enjoy chuckling at some of the names that people come up with, I can't honestly think of a good reason why I need to see them.

    EXCEPT if I want to befriend one of those users. I don't always think to do this during the game, so I often have to go back to watch my recordings or check Steam's list of recent players. I wouldn't be able to find anybody if they all had generic handles.
