Remove Ban for Connection Issues

I recently recieved a ban because the game couldn't connect to the servers. My internet was still working fine, so it seems like the game just bugged out, and yet the game still treats it like a penalty as if I abandoned the match. I've seen other players/streamers also go through the issue where it clearly isn't them abandoning, just server problems. So is there any chance to make ban penalties only available to those who Alt-F4 or Abandon through the menu?

The DC penalty starts small for those kind of reasons, so if anything is going on, you can try to figure out how to fix it, e.g. you can use this sub-forum to figure out any possible technical related issues: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/technical-issues

The DC penalty cannot tell the difference between lost connection or someone intentionally pulling the plug - so a DC is treated like a DC, no matter the circumstances. This is most common with DC penalties, as you can easily fake a crash easily.

Disconnecting intentionally ruins the game for other people and before the system was added to the game, disconnecting was a really big issue and since the penalty has been introduced, it has gotten better. It's there for a reason and it's not going to be turned off.

And yet people still DC frequently the bans did little to fix it as people will just eat the ban or just get off for the day, and killing yourself is still a problem too and its not like DC penalty does anything for that either.

Why should the other people in a match suffer because you're internet isn't that good.

But thats the thing, my connection was working just fine only for it to force me back to the startup screen. Once even had players still moving around in the background just fine, only with a message telling me I lost connection and no option to wait it out, only go quit back to the startup screen. It's unfortunate the other players have to queue/play without a teamate but it wasn't even my choice.

There are programs that can stress your network, to make it look like you have connection problems. So any time a player is salty about the game and wants to DC, he could just pull out that program to avoid penalty. Game CANNOT tell if your problems are genuine, unless you give it full access to your system, even then, you could have additional device in network jamming your router whenever you want to DC, so unfortunately, the penalty has to stay.

I know its annoying, i had game crash on me 2 times in short period of time, so penalty stacked to 15 mins iirc, yet i knew I couldn't do anything with it - there are ways to crash game on your will, so again, penalties have to be there.

Only solution would be taking penalties off all together, but i don't think that's even considerable.

You should make sure you have stable wifi and connection before playing. The ban is there for that reason as it affects others in the match as well and the ban system can not tell the difference between player disconnecting or wifi problem.
