DBD classic
In all honesty I want 2016 dbd back same three killers same 4 survivors and I'll be complete.

Only as long as everyone's memory is erased and we all beging anew. Otherwise no, that would be such a pain.

For survivors, it was fun for survivors. Probably as much fun as facing old, no fatigue 6 blinks nurse. Very fun indeed.

Am I reading this correctly?

Old DBD was so much more fun and skill based on both sides. Of course not counting the cheese strategies, items or perks but the base game absolutely.
Everything about DBD before BHVR took over was perfect, as soon as BHVR came in we got fortnite-like graphics, unskilled gameplay, and endless nerfs to survivors while making killer exponentially easier and thoughtless. The skill required to play this game has been gutted.

Agreed. Patch 1.5.3 ruined the game. Let's roll the game back to before that point.
1 -
What was that patch?

I actually had a thread asking people to what version of DBD they would return to if they could, and I don't think this one was mentioned. What is so special about it?
0 -
That sounds a little bit extreme, tbh...
I would love to return to an older version of the game, trust me, but I would choose either 2.4.0 or 1.8.0

Hehehe.

So you want to kill everyone right away, huh?
Evil, but I like your idea :)

To be honest, old moris before any changes were completely fair.

If you take into consideration how BNP used to work back then, yes they were.
0 -
And infinites
0 -
Ah yes, there is that.

I've always wanted to try the 2016 version of dbd it seemed like such a different game

So you want infinite back if i understand correctly

Can we please have them just rewrite the code for the current game and make it more stable before they dig up the old code?
1 -
No ######### way. No-one would ever play killer, survivors are too good to waste resources like they did back then, and predropping pallets is an even bigger instawin.
2 -
I'm fine with the current game, survivors were busted as hell back then and the maps were ugly.

Starbreeze owned the license on the game until patch 2.0 I believe. Around that time.

I for one LOVE shack with two windows, ACTUAL infinites, being able to destroy traps PERMANENTLY, old BNPs, a lack of map variety, and facing the same 3 killers every game!

And here we have the entitled survivor main!
Please, do explain in great detail how any killer was supposed to win against that many pallets and genuine infinites? Just how skillful was it to predrop every pallet and not even go through half of them? Or to just hold W with Sprint Burst whilst healing yourself with Self Care in the middle of a chase with zero counterplay?
And if Killer is so easy now, why is it that survivor ques are so long at peak hours?
2 -
....Old DBD was more skill based? are you for real?
2 -
It comes down to preference, i hated the maps back then and a graphical rework was my dream, glad it happened

Survivor queue times are so long because all the good killers quit when they started pandering the game to people like you. I didn't mean dbd 1.0 in my original post, patch 1.9 to 2.0 is what I was speaking of.
Pallets? Nurse, Huntress, and Billy could and did just fine back then. Even leatherface and doctor could be strong in the right hands. Stealth killers were always hit or miss.
How skillfull is it to swing at every pallet and get free hits because m1 vacuum?
Infinites don't exist if bloodlust exists, which was added 1.5.2.
"Self care OP"
If a killer can't catch a survivor with bloodlust 2 in 40 seconds, the survivor deserves their exhaustion perk back IMO.
And I am the entitled one LOL.
1 -
Lol, you actually believe this nonsense! People stopped playing killer because it's easier??? People stopped playing killer because it's too frustrating and difficult! They complain about it all the time!
Please, go watch vids from early DbD to refresh your memory of how the maps and perk worked, then impose current survivor average skill levels onto them. You know, now that people know how to hold W and predrop pallets.
1 -
During that time infinite were in every map and almost every loop had them the shack only had 1 door and 2 window and no entity could block them just that was an infinite

You dont want to play old versions if you want to play killer. Sprintburst alone made 5 min chases possible. 40s cooldown, but it bought 10s alone when holding W. Then you loop for 30s in pallettown (using 1 pallet, maybe 2). Then you sprintburst off to the other half of the map. Use 1 pallet there, sprintburst back to another half. With the amount of double pallets, plus palletvacuum, always fastvaults and fast heals you could survive for ages. If you dont want to go down, you wouldnt basically.
And thats just the fair part of dbd. Ofc, the real gameplay of 2016 is standing at a window and pressing space. Every potato in this game could outplay you by sprintbursting to infinite. Sprintburst to infinite, rinse repeat "Just chase someone else". 2016 dbd was terrible bar nostalgia.

I just want the old graphics back with a touch of the newer ones. The game actually looked like an horror game not a cartoon style horror game.
2 -
What was more fun then compared to now?

Personally, I would deal with all that to have old billy back. And window blocking existed around the time I am speaking of. Day 1 2016 DBD isn't fun because the looping playstyle wasn't set up to be balanced yet. That happened later when they added window blocking, bloodlust, and slow vaults.
Before healing was nerfed people actually healed. Now they stay injured, rush gens and hide. Pallet vacuum is a necessary evil when the game has a flawed hit validation system. You either have survivor sided pallet vacuum or killer sided M1 vacuum through pallets and windows like modern dbd.
2 -
Sure, but the sick and twisted version of Dbd is only fun for masochists and survivors.
2 -
To be honest with you, my friend, if a hundred infinite loops was the price to play as Freddy on release I would be more than willing to pay it.
Of course 1.8.0 was not as insane as 2016, but it wasn't perfectly balanced either.

For a round of old billy, sign me up. Loved to play him with flick and his sturdy controls. He felt heavy and in control, unlike the slippery surgeon today.
For the rest of 2016 dbd, i'll gladly pass. May you guys enjoy old dbd and discover why exactly it was bad :D
Infinites alone are a hard pass for me
2 -
No way in hell.
Don't get me wrong, there are some things I miss from old dbd, such as Old Freddy and the maps before the Realm Beyond; but for the most part, dbd back then was a survivor-sided clusterfuck.

Old Freddy was such a unique, fun killer and he had his own playstyle/techniques to control the map. I agree 100%.
Nurse, Freddy, Billy, Even doctor all seem to have their fun watered down now.
