Add a voice chat like they did in Friday 13th The Game?
I don't know if a lot of you folks have once played this game (friday 13) but in this game, they added a cool voice chat mechanic: you were able to hear all other survivors at the moment they got the talkie-walkie. Those who had it could be heard by those who had it too and vice-versa. Otherwise, you needed to be close enough to other survivors
Furthermore, if killer is close to survivors who are talking, he can hear them.
This mechanic was pretty cool IMO and I don't know about implementing it in DBD? With talkie-walkies to find in the map and the killer could hear survivors: that could fix strong SWF squads (of course discord parties and in-console parties wouldn't allow this) but I think this could be a good way to add something to the game, plus that could help some solo survs, and nobody with a talkie-walkie would be forced to talk if they don't want to, but could hear what others say and use it in their advantage.
Killer would need to be in a certain radius of talking survs to hear them, no matter what.
What do you guys think? Could it be possible to do? I want to hear your opinions about that :)

Maybe for a limited time event, but seeing as this community has been "evolving" for years with no voice chat, it'd most likely be super toxic. I think it kinda worked for Friday as it released with the mechanic.

Nope, Nah, People would be dropping slurs and Killer would be unplayable
I suggest a communication wheel Like the one in overwatch and the survivors would say stuff like: "Generator over here" and "Heal me"
And the stuff you can only say are:
Generator Over Here/There
Come On
Go Over There
Save (Insert survivor name)
Totem Over Here/There
Chest Over Here/There
Heal Me
Yes
No
The Beast Is Coming
Hide!
(Btw the survivors would have different Voice actors and some of them would talk in their own language And obviously, They would whisper so the killer doesn't get them)

With Friday the 13th I can bear it, but with Dead by Daylight I uninstall it for life if that happens.

UGH When I get home from a full day of ADULTING, I don't want to hear some snotty kid say a SWEAR or other words the lord would not approve of, my cats might hear them!
On the real though I don't think proximity chat would work that well, game is balanced pretty heavily around audio. Walkie Talkies sound jank to me as well maybe you could elaborate a bit more on that.
I wouldn't mind a group voice chat for just the Survivors in your party though. So if you are playing with friends you are not forced to use a third party voice chat.

I can already see a meg spamming heal me when you are working on a gen that's almost finished

Game ping systems should have antispam feature.

Lmao true, But i think the communication wheel should have a cooldown of 10 seconds, For example: I say heal me then i'll have to wait 10 secs for me to talk, And the communication would have a range so you can hear them if you're a survivor or a killer

One of the devs addressed this while they were streaming themselves playing dbd. I saw the clip in a compilation so I can't link it. It went something like this.
"In-game chat between survivors was something we discussed back in the earliest days of development, and we decided it was not what we wanted to go for."
I expect several people to say "No source provided, this is probably made up" which I totally get, but I have no reason to lie. Proximity chat or walkie talkies aren't happening any time soon. Unless Behavior sells dbd to another company and they add voice chat.
